Josh Robinson from Franklinton ran a 4.27 rumor has it. I know it was probably hand timed but still this kid can fly.

I have read about Josh Robinson on the MSU boards after he came to our camp and ran a 4.4 last month. Ive heard that this kid can fly and he told our writer that he has run sub 4.3 times before. He is too old to play HS ball in Louisiana this year and is likely playing at Hargrave Military Academy.

This kid spoke some harsh words about LSU on the MSU site due to the lack of interest LSU was showing him. Early on LSU told him he wasnt good enough to play RB for them and they wanted to look at him as a DB, he said he knows he is an offensive player (30 TDs last year) He said that Mississippi State was his favorite along with Ole Miss, Oklahoma State, and Florida.

He doesn't have an offer from us, Mississippi State, but is behind fellow Louisiana RB prospect Derrick Milton from Pineville. Both kids are expected to be at Mississippi State's top senior camp next week.

He has an offer from Mississippi State but for some reason they haven't put it up yet.

Who pays his way to Hargrave?

Not sure, but Derrick Milton, another MSU RB recruit is also going there this fall. I wonder how any of the recruits who goes to Hargrave pay their way. Im guessing they have some type of scholarship or financial aid for kids that go there.

Not sure, but my guess is that some parent/guardian considers this a well worthwhile investment. Boarding type schools arn't cheap even with some financial aid.

From the MSU articles that I read, he will not be able to play this year for Franklinton due to the fact that he played varsity ball for them in the 8th grade and supposedly you can only play 4 years of varsity ball in the State of Louisiana. Not sure if that is true, but that is the story he gave the MSU Rivals guy. He is stated saying that he more than likely will be playing for Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia.

quote:

Before he breaks down all his college options, Robinson is first focused on his options for this fall. He began playing high school football in the eighth grade, and thus has run out of high school eligibility. So for now, he is considering a couple of options. "I could just sit out this season and try to graduate in December from high school," said Robinson. "I am taking four classes now so I can go that route if I have to. It would be good to go to college in January and start that process early. "But I have also been thinking about playing this season, too. If I do that, I will go to Hargrave Military Academy so I can stay on the field and not miss a year."

Does anybody know if there is any truth to this Louisiana HS sports rule that you no longer have eligibility to play HS sports if you have played 4 years (8th-11th)???? Sounds kinda fishy to me.

He was not at Franklinton in the 8th grade. Last year was his first year.

Must be a brand new rule because there are girls in the tiny B-C schools that pitch varsity literally in 6th grade up. There was a pitcher a few years ago that pitched the state championship and won at 13.

The rule is that you can play varsity sports as long as you are actually attending the same school campus. Most of the small B-C type schools have one campus, K-12, one principal, etc....so kids are allowed to play up if they are good enough. It definitely does not limit the number of years they can compete and with Franklinton being a 4A school I highly doubt the kid played, or was even eligible to play, as an 8th grader.

If he isn't eligible to play as a senior then it is probably age related.

It's always cool to see some of these Louisiana kids end up in Starkville. I hope they thrive and do well!

Josh is not to old to play at FHS this year. He will play this year and will graduate and sign with a school. Josh should be a junior but will be a senior this year.
