Josh did not play varsity ball at FHS as a 8th grader. Last year was Josh's first year to play for fhs after siting out his first year after transfering. This is a FACT! The LHSAA does allow 8th graderst to play varsity sports from 8th grade on ala Randall Mackey. I think the confusion in the MSU article is that Josh will be technically a JR this year but is trying to graduate on time but as far as eligibilty goes he is eligible and will play for FHS this year.

If the middle school has the same administration as the high school, and they are on the same campus it is legal for 8th graders to play.
It seems like your new friend who posted above me has a pretty good presumption that he didn't play last year.

I am what you would consider a "FHS insider" trust me I know Josh's situation as well or better than most do. Josh has played 1 year of varsity football.

I guarantee we know each other bro. As he said, Josh still has one more year here at FHS.

Ahhha! It makes sense. This man is an insider. He is my source for all things FHS

This kid spoke some harsh words about LSU on the MSU site due to the lack of interest LSU was showing him. Early on LSU told him he wasnt good enough to play RB for them and they wanted to look at him as a DB, he said he knows he is an offensive player (30 TDs last year) He said that Mississippi State was his favorite along with Ole Miss, Oklahoma State, and Florida.
I know guys have a favorite position but man... it's not like being better suited for something else is an insult
There is no better athlete on LSU's team than Patrick Peterson IMO... and if you want to look at it in a purely selfish light kids should want to play DB instead of RB - a great corner is a top 15 pick... a great RB might drop to the 2nd or 3rd round

If you knew the kid you would know that the chances of the MSU writer taking things out of context were pretty good. This is a great kid who has worked his butt off considering his situation. He is prob a little hurt that LSU hasn't shown love but I can assure you he's no LSU basher. Just let things play out. I see him signing somewhere this year not going to Hargrave. I also had it comfirmed last night by the main man at FHS that Josh is eligible and will play this year and should graduate since he is currently taking somce correspondence courses.
