an NCAA committee member just came to my house and took my Orange Bowl DVD, my ticket stubs, and my SC beer stein and then went across the street and gave it all to my Auburn neighbor!

Well, as much as I hate to say it, Auburn deserves it and would have kicked USC's arse up and down the field that year.
No, you say? Why? Because the so-called experts say so? How'd those idiots do predicting OSU v Miami, FSU v OU, USC v TX., and LSU v OK, and OSU v FL. Clearly, the annointed "clear favorite" was the kiss of death.

The two games the two years before tend to paint a different picture, albeit with an ineligible player. Also I believe Oklahoma was favored to win that game.
