I'd be proud that they showed they had a pair but disappointed in them not playing how they are capable of playing for over a month.

South Carolina came in 5th in the SEC in 2004, swept through the SEC tournament, and became the #2 national seed.

So I think it's a legit possibility to simply host a regional if we win tomorrow and sweep through the SEC tournament.

For some reason the NCAA has always put a HUGE emphasis on the SEC tournament. Hopefully we can have a good showing this time and keep that trend alive.

Still very unlikely. For one thing, regional sites are announced on Sunday before the SEC Tournament is even finished. And also, we'll finish no better than 7th in the SEC. The 7th place team really deosn't deserve to host a regional. SEC will likely get 4 host spots: Florida, South Carolina, Auburn and Arkansas/Vanderbilt.

No way can you compare their situation to ours as it is a completely different.

that season, South Carolina ended the regular season on a tear and was ranked 7th in the country going into the SEC tourney.

On April 17, 2004, Carolina lost their second straight game to Kentucky, which left them 25-10 overall and 6-8 in the SEC.

They then turned their season around and went 20-5 over their last 25 games and 11-5 in the SEC. Of those 20 wins, they beat 11 ranked teams.

Of course. This team was literally dead in the water, and I've said it before, I don't care if they're playing MSU. I think they're starting to feel it, something happened and I just feel like they're going to make a little noise in Hoover and beyond.

I'm actually pretty excited about the game tomorrow, I want to see how they come out and play in an (almost) meaningless game.

Not really meaningless at all. When you look at the SEC tourney bracket that first game will be pretty different depending on if we are the 7th or 8th seed. I'd much rather play Auburn than Florida right out of the gate.

I would say yes. Remember we could host and be a #2 seed to say UConn or one of those teams.

FROM THE "DANDY ONE"...

"Regional play begins June 04-07 and I believe LSU will host a regional if they win one game in the SEC tournament."
