exactly.

Just when you think the Saints couldn't possibly play the "no respect" card after winning it all......

I don't normally read from this writer. Does the guy have a history of idiot writings?

im not gonna say he's way off base bc he's not, but to make that type of stement is bold... the reason i think the stelers let down was bc of polamalu not being back there, dudes a game changer

all of his comments were pretty on point including the one where nobody but atlanta should challenge us in the division...

there was no bigger Saints backer on the radio than Don Banks last season he consistantly called us better than the colts while both teams were undefeated

This particular writer must have thought Mardi Gras was just thrown together because the Saints won.

I'm not downing his points per se....

I'm wondering why we're keeping company in the article with a title that says:

quote:

Bills, Bears headline eight teams headed for trouble in 2010

and apparently included in the same article with Oakland, Cleveland, etc under such a title.

The Saints just...well...seem out of place. Do you see Don talking about any of the other teams in that list being favored to win their division? Just seems odd. But, like I said, I certainly don't read or listen to him. RSS feed popped up with the article.

I think he put the Saints in that group because it has been difficult in the past for Super Bowl winners to repeat, and the vicodin scandal was just too juicy to pass up. The Saints do not belong in that list of teams and will prove it when football season starts. It certainly won't be the first time the "experts" have been proven wrong by the Saints!

Banks is obsessed with the celebration in the city.

That's what so strange about this. Banks is usually a phenomenal writer for SI; this silliness is an anomaly.

It's really not that big of stretch putting them in there. His reasons are 100% valid; not saying they are going to happen, but there is nothing crazy about them:

defending champ - this is nothing new in football; if the Saints don't win the superbowl again, it will be a let down; he didnt say the Saints are going to go 7-9

vicodin - this one is obvious

I really have no idea why people are whining about this. You guys are turning into the ones over on the Rant.

My only gripe with Banks in recent weeks has been his obsession with "over celebrating" by the Saints.

I'm not too big on the "they're disrespecting us in the media" game.
