I just had to delete someone as a friend on Facebook because of his update about the place. He was showing his redneck too much any way recently, but when he posted that he was "loving him some new Panchos and the food was awesome, better than before", I was done with seeing any of his updates ever again.

I never ate there before it closed down, but I think I will try this place out just to say I have eaten at panchos

Did at the Nicholson location once or twice when I was in school. And when I was a kid back in the late 60's and early 70's,we went to a Poncho's in Memphis when in town for an annual convention. It wasn't a buffet. I thought it was awesome. I like messican food, great,good,and...I'll eat the "bad",too.

It is low grade Mexican food.

Most of the dishes are over cooked and hard as a rock.

Hard to screw up refried beans and tacos so you can make plenty of those.

Be careful when you get up to get more, they will clean your table and give it to the next customer.

Overall, it is ok for a buffet. I went once when it opened in Metairie and haven't been back.

how long until this place turns into another Siegen Lane restaurant graveyard? (like Fazoli's, Lighthouse, Las Gabos, Krispy Kreme, Smokey Bones, etc.)

I give that place 18 months

hooters, chilis, and olive garden all seem to do alright. i guess panchos is just going to have to compete with that kind of culinary innovation.

I dropped off a package at the FedEx on Siegen and could not believe the line I saw. Probably 20-30 people long standing OUTSIDE for fricking Pancho's! And this was at 5:45! Just insane to have a line like that for a buffet.

i had to go to petland to get some stuff for my dog at about 7PM and that line EASILY had 60 people .. it looked like there was even a concession stand set up outside ... pancho's is now the mexican version of what krispy kreme used to be ..

That's insane. I went and got takeout at T&B Express. Got Chicken enchiladas verde, 2 pastor tacos, and 2 tongue tacos. No one was in the place (around 7:30) and food was delicious as always.
