I'd rather have defense look great in scrimmages than offense. You can win with a shite offense. Can't with bad defense

I went for around 2 hours. The OL just got their asses handed to them by Cam Heyward and John Simon. It was ugly. You can also tell TP hates scrimmages where he wears the black non-contact jersey. He wanted to move around the pocket some, but every time he did it was an easy touch sack for the D.

Scrimmages mean jack...especially non spring game ones. Our defensive line is exponentially better than the oline, so not surprising that they dominated. John Simon is poised to be an absolute stud...dude may be the strongest person in all of college football.

Im not to worried about our Offense. Yesterday was a shell of what its going to be. As for our defense, the DLine is going to be a VERY tough task to handle this year. Those guys are flat out good. I will expect a little bit more this saturday in the Spring Game after a week of film study of themselves. GO BUCKS!

If only LSU fans could have a similar outlook on the meaninglessness of spring games.

I think the difference is this is an LSU site. Yes, it is the MSB but I would think something as meaningless as a jersey scrimmage can be talked about on the Columbus Dispatch or wherever else they post.

.....I was going to post a link to it but it isn't worth the time, the story has 7 comments on the story so I guess the majority of them don't really care either. ......obviously it isn't going to be cared about here.

If 92,000 fans show up for A SPRING game at LSU I would be worried.

Jersey scrimmage = 1st team offense v 1st team defense, 2nd team o v 2nd team d, etc.

Our Spring game is two teams where the players draft each other...I know a lot of schools do it differently.

And if you don't want to see a post about OSU then (tada!) don't fricking post in it and let it die.

The spring game's next week. The jersey scrimmage is first team O vs first team D, second O v second D, etc. Whichever unit, O or D, scores more (based on a modified point system that takes into account first downs, 3 and outs, etc) gets to wear the scarlet jerseys at fall practice. It was closed to the public (wondering how killernut watched it?) The spring game has a mix of first team guys on each team, so each starting lineup for the spring game has about .5 first teamers and .5 second. The jersey scrimmage is the thing the coaches take most seriously in the spring, and the spring game's more about "fun".

I'm not too concerned about the offense's performance, but it's not a good sign.
