I'm surprised this episode received such a low rating, regardless, I'm pretty hyped for it.

this will be a great episode but i don't think the best of the season don't think you can top the Richard centric episode

I'm keeping my expectations very low given what the ratings were. I know it's Desmond centric, but the ratings have been spot on so far and this was rated as one of the lowest of the season.

Across the Sea and the Last Recruit seem to be rated high. Hopefully they top the Richard episode. I can't fathom how Across the Sea won't be awesome.

So in every thread there is always speculation as to which people MIB can use (i.e., take their form) to influence the pawns.
I'm watching some old episodes and the appearances by Walt to Shannon are bugging me. He's not dead, so MIB can't use him. Other people can see Walt (Sayid saw him) but he talks in reverse when he speaks to her so it can't be the real Walt. WTF is up with these appearances? Anyone got any guesses? I'd hate to chalk it up to "suspense building" but that is what I'm leaning toward.

we know Walt is "special" - to what degree, no clue, but it's possible he can shift inbetween the two realities
or Jacob can appear as the form of other people, but doesn't have the same limitations
...or MIB can look like whomever the frick he wants to, we're just making a false assumption that they have to be dead
