As long as we got this guy, we are going to be just fine. His walk-out song could be Mc-Hammer (can't touch this)

Why would you wanna mess with having a shutdown closer than can pitch 2/3 and some weekend 3/3 games. When AR comes back we'll be just fine. Ott needs to stay where he is and close the door game after game all season long.

Boy,he was on today. I was a little worried about his outing last week, but when he's on,he's on. Starting pitching will be better when Ranaudo gets healthy. Yesterday was not fun!

Can he be? Who knows. But in my non-LSU coach opinion, he never should be. A closer that is that consistent in save opportunities against college bats? Much more rare than a good starter.

I wish people would shut the frick up about him being a starter. We have the best closer n the nation, why do yall want to ruin that?

ETA: they didn't play "game over" today when he came in n the 8th, guess CPM read Rouge's thread

Here's the way I feel about what you guys think is over-confidence. If you wanna talk shite, and you have the ability to back it up, then do it. If you can't back it up, it will make you look dumb. This kid obviously CAN back it up, as he's shown for awhile now. He looks like he's just having fun and having the time of his life, playing a great, wondeful game. Get over the song.

because they all know better than the coach that just won a national championship.

i've never understood wanting to change a GREAT thing.. maybe a GOOD thing.. but a GREAT thing should stay where it's at.

+10000000

Just because it may make other batters want to smash the shite out of him doesn't mean that they will do it. We've seen time and time again that it doesn't happen much. I love the confidence. He's cocky and he backs it up. I wish that would spread over to our football team too.

Sometimes you WANT the batters to want to smash the shite out of the ball. Breaks down their plate discipline. Especially when they're desperate (i.e. at the end of a game).

Hypotheically, if Ranaudo is gonna be out for an extended period of time why not give him a shot to prove he can translate his dominance from a closers role to a starters role?

Since when did a coach winning a national championship in any sport mean anything to these rantards? With these fans you are only as good as your last game. Your body of work is meaningless.
