I just watched Douglas' video. I'm actually pretty impressed by him. His offensive line rarely slows anybody down so he is very good at getting the ball out very quickly usually at the end of his drop. His mechanics and all definitely need work but the intangibles are there.

One of often ignored facts about the 2011 class is the badass names these kids have. Several of these guys have no choice but to play for LSU given their birth names.

I can't argue with the top 5. Everyone can make an argument for anyone in the top 5.

We it on it in another thread, but I like a couple other guys ceilings more so than Micky, which is why i would have him a couple spots lower than you currently do (I do plan on giving him a small bump from where I currently have him).

Magee is someone I want to watch more his senior year. We both have him in the same general area of the rankings, but I want to see more from him (not sure why, but I just am not as sure about him).

I think you have Byrd a little too high at this point. I am very high on Byrd and if he can show me a couple improvements on the defensive side of the ball I will quickly move him to about where you have him ranked. He needs to work on his defensive tenacity. That is kind of the short answer for what he needs to work on to become an elite player. I want to see some ferocity out of him. He has all the tools to be an excellent FS if he can gain the defensive mentality. At WR, I don't see him as a SEC caliber player. He is a mid-lower D1 guy there.

Beau Fitte is quite high...I question his coverage skills right now since he is practically a 3-4 Rush End/OLB. He did time well (4.46) so the speed in there to play OLB or SS in college...but I haven't seen the coverage film as of now.

I want to look at Liggins some more. He was hyped a lot last year, but the first time I watched his video I came away with a "meh" type reaction.

T.K. Fleming is someone that I need to add.

What can you tell me about Johnny Banks, Lawrence Breaux, and Micah Eugene?

I've watched Banks' film and I rather Evan Tatford at this point over him. (But they are within a few spots of each other).

Pretty good list... I think Oliver may be a bit high, and Turner could be moved up a few spots, but those 2 are really hard to get a true handle on. The only major mistake I would have a problem with is the omission of Gerrand Johnson

Yet another name to take note on.

Both those Rayville guys are recruits to be added to the watch up. They will shoot up it.

Agree, nobody knows if he can cover. His overall defensive awareness and ball hawking ability sticks out. I still think he can play the will linebacker. I think he can cover backs, and flats even though we havent seen it yet.

Able to see Breaux and Eugene play in the same game. I think Breaux is highly underrated. If he came out this year, he would have been a top 3 running back in louisiana. Eugene, had good size and could play strong safefty or FS in college. I like Eugene cause he's coachable, you can tell he plays DB understanding the High school rules. Therefore, he has a advantage, and it's close to what he will see in College.

As for Banks and Tadford. Seeing Tadford in person against Evangel, he held his own. Watched him against Zachary and looked for sure as a D1 player. I just think he's a pure blocking TE. And possibly growing into a guard in college. Banks is just a better athlete at this point.

he can run, thats all that matters. Yeah he is undersized, but i like the way he plays. He isnt strictly a 3-4 end though.

he's not a guy i would want LSU to take early, but if the numbers are right 8 or 9 months from now, then heck yea

29. Micah Eugene
30. Stevie Douglas

From the bottom up:

Douglas is unproven on the field, but I could see him being the "project" QB in this class. He's skinny and has a weird throwing motion, but I think he has decent instincts and good potential. If Zach Lee goes to the MLB, then I could definitely see him being the second QB, possibly as a walk on. I would have him possibly a little higher.

Effrem Reed is probably a little lower than I would put him. He'll be one of those guys that the rant will complain about Miles "missing". He needs to find his position, but I see him as being a great fit for a school like AU that runs the wildcat a lot.

I'm not that high on Fitte. I don't think he's even in the top 30. I think he's just getting attention because he's Sylve's teammate. His game film is meh, and if you are only meh in 1A, that's no good. With that said, he does fit the Chavis "mold" for LB's.

Quentin Thomas almost has to go higher, based solely off of how early he was offered by LSU. I haven't watched much tape on him, but from what I saw he looked good.

I think I would switch Levander Liggins and Effrem Reed. I think that Reed is a better talent and more versatile.

Byrd is way too high, IMO. I think he's comparable to Rod Davis. He might be an SEC talent, but I think it's more of a Miss. St. talent.

I would switch Sylve and Mickey Johnson. Minute, just my opinion.

The top three are all interchangeable. I like that Robinson tore up the army combine. I like the comments about Collins. However, I would be the most upset if we lost Freak Johnson and that's why he's my number one.
