Next year is here
Simmons said Scout.com will release its first batch of 2011 prospect rankings in the days to come. He named six players from Louisiana who will be featured in the Top 150.
Simmons said Evangel’s Jermauria Rasco will lead the Louisiana contingent, with Redemptorist’s La’el Collins and Jeremy Hill, O.P. Walker’s Anthony Johnson, Patterson’s Kenny Hilliard and Lutcher’s Jarvis Landry also on the list.
For comparison’s sake, Louisiana has three prospects — Reed (No 36), Reid (90) and Allen (119) — ranked among Scout.com’s top 150 this year.

This will change. IMO, Collins is the best player in LA and its not even close.Rasco has not been overly impressive to me since his Soph. year.

I was about to say the same thing. I'm sure Rasco is a stud, but I don't think he will lead the way for long.
Once the double teams started, the stats fell hard.

I think Collins and Freak will end up ahead of Rasco on most lists.

That's shite.
No offense to Rasco.......he should be a 5 star type but not the top player in LA

Only 6? I am a little surprised by this.
Then again, Sylve was hurt almost his entire junior year and Gregory Robinson went to the AAA junior combine, which is practically a Rivals event.

6? I guess they don't have video of Sylve. He's a better wide receiver prospect than Trevon Reed. Much more explosive.
Also, Collins and Freak are better prospects than Rasco. It's really not even close. You can make a legitimate argument that both Collins and Freak are the top two prospects in the country with their combination of size and explosiveness.
While Rasco is a great prospect, and also five star material, he does not possess the physical gifts of Collins and Freak. He would need to run in the 4.5 range as a 230 pound defensive end to compare with Freak and Collins athleticism for their respective positions.

I agree with this, and I could see Landry jumping Rasco as well.
What Scout has done is basically consider all of the prospects in Louisiana and find the one that is least likely to commit to LSU - they they awarded him the title of being the top player in the state.

Collins will probably be the #1 O-lineman overall
Johnson will probably be the #2 DT overall(behind Jernigan)
Rasco will be #3-4 DE Overall
Landry will 3-5 Overall WR--Only because Height and speed hold him down in the ratings--Still wowed by his Vids, though.
Hilliard will be 2-4 RB-speed only reason he's not higher.
Thats just how I see the sites ranking them, but that group could all push for 5 stars, each.
