LSU should be able to stay in state for all its DT needs in 2011. I think that LSU should/needs to offer all of the big 4. 2 already have their offers, but the other 2 need to be offered ASAP/TONIGHT.

Anthony Johnson, 6'4" 298, O. Perry Walker (offer, verbal)
Quentin Thomas, 6'3" 265 Breaux Bridge (offer)
Chuck Hunter, 6'1" 294 West Monroe
Mickey Johnson, 6'1" 305 St. Paul's

others:
Cody Mills, 6'2" 275 Sulphur
Dathan Thomas, 6'1" 300 East St John

And I am sure that there may be a few more that will pop up.

Agreed. One more year with subpar recruiting on our dl and it would be devastating. With that being said i think we only take 1 maybe 2 more. (FREAK)

If we only take one more who you got??

Have you looked at the Roster? We have 3 DTs right now and the one currently committed may not be eligible.

We'd better take all 4 of these guys and maybe even 1-2 out of state. Any less than 4 DT's in the next class and we're shooting ourselves in the foot.

We have more than 3 DTs on the roster. I hope we take all 4 in state DTs next year but we do not "need" more than that barring a bunch of attrition, injuries, or position switches.

Go look at the roster.

Nevis, Downs and Davenport.

Barring injuries, attrition or position switches? Do you follow football much?!?!? Just an FYI, you take all the DL/OL studs you can get your hands on - period.

Where'd you hear that? I have a hard time believing it. In fact, I'd be more likely to believe someone like Cordigan Hagans will get moved back to the DL

Sorry, when I say "roster" I mean guys on the team at that position. Apparently when you say roster you mean the link on the LSU website that also lists Brandon Taylor as a cornerback. In other words it isn't always reliable.

Nevis (irrelevant to the discussion since he will be gone anyway)
Levingston (see Nevis)
Davenport
Downs
Brockers
Logan

If you bring in 4 next year that gives you 8 not including Blackmon, and nobody seems to know where Allen will end up. If you bring in the two more from out of state you're looking at over 10 DTs. FYI...you certainly take DL when you can get them, but you can't have over 10 DTs on the team at one time, the numbers just do not work.

Brockers, Logan, and Pep also.

We take Rasco (DE), Freak, and Hunter and call it a day at DT.

Levingston is clearly a DE...that has to be a typo on your part

and Logan and Brockers being moved is still speculation

He played there a lot at the end of 08 and Ferguson was told he is being moved to DT next year. Was that just an attempt to sell Ferguson or the truth? It wouldn't be a stretch considering he has played the position at LSU before and he doesn't have the quickness to play DE as proven last season.

Logan has been a DT since day one, no speculation needed. Miles mentioned Brockers working at DT during fall camp.

Jeez, levingston got pushed around as a DE...on the surface this looks like a terrible move

and hopefully logan has beefed up if he's going to play dt
