Going this Sunday for my birthday. Wise choice? Any suggestions on what to get? This will be my first ever NOLA brunch, don't want to be disappointed.

I am not a big brunch fan, but IMO Arnaud's is probably the second best place in the city for brunch. You should have a nice time there.

I agree with glass. It doesn't get much talk on here, but Arnaud's has been solid every time I have been.

Arnaud's is a great spot for dinner or brunch. When an out of towner wants to hit an old line restaurant, this is the place to take them.

Great spot for Brunch. This is from someone who really doesn't like "brunch." You'd think it should be more crowded than it normally is.
They do a poached egg dish, sort of like a benedict, but with a house smoked pompano on it. It was fantastic, I thought.
It's a hell of a deal, as well.

I agree with all that has been said in this thread...including the part about being jealous.

great brunch... took my g/f there for her birthday once and they put 2 balloons on her chair and gave us a corner table as I requested, cause the room is kind of crowded. The band trio comes around to your table several times and takes requests if wanted. Great atmosphere and food... think I got grits and grillades, can't remember though.

Sounds like I made a good decision!
Okay next question: is the cafe brulot worth it or should I stick with a bloody mary?

The brulot is an after the meal drink.
1. Bloodies
2. Brunch
3. Brulot
My alliteration skills are on fire today.

I'll have either cafe brulot (whenever it is served) or a bloody mary. Not both, I have business to tend to that afternoon

looking at a bunch of real estate and don't want to be lit although it might ease the pain of going from place to place all afternoon

Making large purchases all lit up is the only way to go.

The cafe brulot is awesome. No reason not to do that and a bloody. The cafe brulot is not very potent and shouldn't put you over the top, unless you're a lightweight.
