Before I type this I am aware that not many of you care to read about my opinion, but I'm bored right now and don't feel like ending my lunch break! Flame away if you like, I'm a grown man and my life will go on whether you like what I say or not. Les made some zany decisions, he rolled the dice in the past (didn't we run a fake punt out of our own end zone against Arizona St. in '05) and he came up looking like he had balls big enough to fill up a dump truck (you gotta love Road House!). We all loved Lesticles didn't we? Lately his decisions are back-firing on him, he completely mismanages the clock, and admittedly looks lost on the sideline some games.

I'll admit that I was as pissed as everyone at times this year, but time heals all wounds, and I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt next year. We have an upperclassman playing QB for the first time since '07, and a returning starter at the position for the first time since '06. He's has some wrinkles that need to be ironed out, but so did JaMarcus. Who didn't want to strangle him during the '05 and '06 Florida games?! We were able to overcome his INTs in '05, but not '06.

I look at it like we bottomed out in '08, similar to how we did in '04 and Florida did in '07. The difference between those two teams was they didn't have to turn the season over to a first-year starter like we did TWO SEASONS in a row. There are issues with both lines, and we have to replace three productive LBs next year. This will get turned back around.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, we complained and we were disappointed, but at the end of the day, this is our team. Regardless of how many of you say this is it, you know once Spring practice rolls around you will be all interested again! I know this is a message board and you have the right to voice your opinion, but I don't live in Louisiana anymore so this is my only source of LSU information. There are a lot of posters on here that you can count on for good information, but there are others that seem to enjoy bashing the team and the players. Fans of other teams speak more highly of our team that a lot of people here.

I think the bashing of the coaches is good b/c it keeps them on their toes...(I'd really like a coach that is self motivated to where we dont have to do that but beside the point)...I think everyone should answer to someone...That way, content doesnt set in...Miles owes it to the fans (who pays his salary) to give a shite....The past two years, he's gotten away with "I dont give a shite" and look where its gotten him...So, if we have a great season next year great, then Ill know it came from people bitching and moaning and it got his arse on the hot seat...And it should stay there, he should coach with pressure every year if thats what makes him do his job....One year contract every year...Thats what he gives players and if he has confidence in himself he'll do it...But the fact still remains....He needed a square kick in the arse to get going and that is not a good quality in a coach...He should be the leader..."Attitude Reflects Leadership"

I agree with you. But what I'm saying is we've sounded the alarm. That's really all we can do. We've been heard. Les AND Crowton are going to coach this year, for better or worse. Let's deal with it, and move forward to other issues.

I understand your sentiment, but I don't remember LSU "bottoming out" in 04.

Bottoming out is relative really. In all honestly 8-5 is not rock bottom, but compared to where we expect to be, it is bottoming out.

Wrong. Winning heals all wounds.

That being said, I think 9-4 ain't that bad compared to where we were with Dinardo

You're confusing the 2002 season with the 2004 season and it doesn't help your point.

In 2002, LSU started 6-1 and Mauck got injured during a beatdown of UF at the Swamp. LSU finished 8-5 with a loss in the Cotton Bowl.

In 2004, LSU went 9-2 regular season, 9-3 after Iowa loss, with a 6-2 record in the SEC. It was NOT a bottom-out season.

2002 was sandwiched between the 2001 SEC Championship Tigers and 2003 National Championship Tigers, hardly a bottom out period.

Okay, I should have wrote "bottomed out." I didn't confuse the two years, the 8-5 I was referring to was last year.

I agree with the "time heals most wounds" aspect. I can only speak for me personally.

I hope we do well this season, but this next year's LSU team is going to be the hardest to predict of all LSU teams in a long time.

I'm nervous about next year. I'm not excited about next year b/c I don't know how good our team is going to be. We could finish anywhere from 11-1 to 6-6. I hope it's 14-0.

I think people will start getting anxious for the next year when the spring rolls around. But old wounds can get infected real fast if next season doesn't turn out the way most want it to.

So you intentionally related a 9-2, 6-2 SEC season with one blowout loss to UGA and a 1-point loss at Auburn, that finished 14-0, to a 7-5, 3-5 SEC season in which two teams scored 50+ and LSU didn't win an SEC game after mid-October? Yikes.

Infections are for those who allow wounds to fester instead of scar. A scar shows the patience required to allow something slowing you to heal.

(But hey... If you prefer poking at it with a stick while hitting the "Nurse Call" button continuously - it's your wound, have at it. )

I was trying to compare the fact that we won a national championship the previous year, and didn't perform to the same level the following year. One team on 9 the other team won 8. We were embarrassed once in '04 and three times in '08 (counting Ole Miss). The point I was trying to make is that we were better prepared to "return to glory" in '05 because we were able to work Russell into games during the '04 season. Sometimes he was the closer (Oregon St.) and sometimes Randall bailed him out (Florida). We didn't have the luxury of an upperclassman to turn to last year or this year. We turned to a first year starter the last two years. I really think the team improves next year with an experienced QB. I was not suggesting that the '08 team (or this team) was equal to or better than the '04 team.

Now that is a good way to put this board in perspective.
