and has only a little better than average shot of winning the West every year, how do you feel about it?

Our run was fun while it lasted.

They may finish 10-3 and in the Top 10....which would make you a pretty big idiot. Get back with us on that.

I still want to know how you feel now that we are an average program.

In what years, was this not a reasonable assessment, in looking toward the next season around mid December or so?

If I'm an idiot, LSU winning or losing won't change that.

Smoke and mirrors. Lost to every team that doesn't suck.

Top 10 ain't exactly "average." If 120 schools are in the FBS (1-A), I'm ok with being in that top percentile, realizing that a consistent top 10 program will occassionally bear BCS bowl or BCS title game fruit.

Florida, USC, Oklahoma, Georgia, Ohio State are some examples of schools that have had a top 10 to top 15 year (as opposed to top 5), yet are still in BCS title talk from year to year.

And their fans don't have a SKY IS FALLING mentality that I've witnessed.

So, considering where we've been for the majority of the 110+ years of playing football, I'm pretty good with a Top 10 program.

If we finish in the top 10 and I know that is still an open question... How is that an average team? Average is around the middle of the pack, 50th percentile. There are 119 Division 1 football teams. If my Math is correct it should put us in the top 10%. Again, I ask how is that average?

It is not possible to finish #1 every year, no matter who you are.

But it's possible to at least be in the running for #1 every year.

The sky isn't falling. We just aren't an elite team anymore. But you watch the games, so you don't need me to tell you that. I just wanted to know how everyone felt about it.

They lost to one team that they shouldn't have.....and it ended up not meaning anything (2nd in the West, Cap 1 Bowl).

You FAIL, sir.

Let's wait until this time next year before we open a vein and fire Miles. I'm hoping he's faded enough heat this year that he starts acting like a $4 mill-a-year coach and at least wins the West in 2010. If not, I think it's time for a change.

Perhaps your post would be better served if you define what "elite program" is.

go.
