Well, it's hard to compare. Les beat OU three times while he was there and they've yet to do so since.

Gundy won with Les's recruits..........Les built OSU.......

Saban is to LSU what Miles is to OSU......

Two times in 4 tries actually. Very nearly 3 though. Oklahoma State has beaten Oklahoma 15 times since 1904. And yes, they've played each other every year since then.

Well, in Les' defense..T Boone Pickens dropped like 3 trillion dollars into their athletic department a few years ago and that's when they really took off

Les coached 49 games at OSU, he won more games than Gundy in his first 49.

Believe this is true - but have not verified AND believe Les came in with a more or less struggling program.

But then I guess you could say Les won with Jimmy Johnson's players.....

Actually here's the "rap sheet" -- Les Miles has the highest winning percentage in Ok State football history.... for relevance, i just copied the "modern" era.

Jimmy Johnson 1979-1983 5 57 29 25 3 .535
Pat Jones 1984-1994 11 125 62 60 3 .508
Bob Simmons 1995-2000 6 68 30 38 0 .441
Les Miles 2001-2004 4 49 28 21 0 .571
Mike Gundy 2005-Current 4 50 27 23 0 .540

I'm a Les Miles fan -- he is running a clean program, recruiting well and will finish his careeer at LSU as the winningest coach in the HISTORY of LSU football in my opinion.

Another BCSNCG is within our reach within the next few years, I believe and winning the NC again is a possibility, I believe too.

EVEN if he NEVER wins it again - he's a good coach, a good recruiter, a good man, and represents LSU well .... I'll take 9 and 10 win seasons every year - I don't see this as "settling" in any way.

Me example -- think Texas A&M would trade RC Slocum's 10 wins a year for the PATHETIC product they've had on the field since they fired him?

Les wouldn't have won without Gundy's offense.

FWIW, Before Les got there (2001) they hadn't been to a bowl since 1988 - he took them to 3 in 4 years.
