For about 5 years now, I have read from the "negamiles, negatigers, whatever they are called" how badly Coach Miles compares to our former coach, Bear Br, I mean Nick Saban.

So how do you guys explain how Saban couldn't score ONE touchdown against lowly Tennessee?
I am excited about that and have confidence that Miles and Co. will pull the upset of the year.

Alabama's true colors of red and white (the colors of a chicken) showed this weekend.

We will walk in there the underdog and find the will to pound on Alabama for 4 quarters... I don't know why I said that, it just feels right. We WILL win that game!!!

i always thought saban's biggest weakness as a coach was picking a QB. if he ever found a good one, you couldn't stop his team. (recognizing of course that it is hard for everyone - nonetheless at lsu this situation was highlighted quite a few times, i.e. josh booty, marcus randall.)

it seems to me that that is still his weakness.

He has Star Jackson. Why is he not using him?

Julio Jones is an exception, but generally, I think he will have a hard time recruiting great QBs and receivers because he wants to run the football.

I think the negamiles attitude stems from a strong belief that our players are the best. If weapons and speed advantages aren't utilized we get antsy

We also think our team is better than Bama so at least we have that in common.

I'm definitely pro tigers.

To the folks who answered my offering and to the rest of the Rant, I apologize. As soon as I submitted it, I had to leave. I'll try to do better next time.
The point of my post was that even the best coaches' teams have down games. I think we have the coaching and the talent to study the Tenn/Bama game and plan them to hell & back.
Bama's performance indicated to me that they can be HAD in 2 weeks !!!

Bama is definitely not invincible. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think Bama has only scored 2 offensive touchdowns in the last 3 games they have played. Of course the trick will be for us to actually score some touchdowns, but this is definitely a winnable game.

I agree. Tennessee came OH, so close. A couple of blocks on 2 field goals and Bama would be in melt down mode. I think we do it to 'em. Somebody has to block Cody's large rear, though. That man is a chunk. How strong is he to get all that off the ground high enough to block a kick?

Oh oh, looking ahead. We better worry about Tulane first!!!

fact of the matter is (and will always be) that Saban is a better game time manager/schemer than Miles. That's why he gets the respect he does. He manages a game and makes adjustments-in game. Miles is just as good of a recruiter and weekly planner...but not much adjustments. He tends to hire better coordinators and let them run the show (positive teamwork environment). Saban does everything himself because he's a perfectionist. Miles is also a gambler and not so conservative. Therefore both sides have their pros and cons and can be made to have a winning combination. In the ends both are great coaches but have different approaches to succeed. Problem I believe with Miles is because he relies on others, the ship can go astray if the captain goes to sleep!!

Star is not the passer G Mc is

Star is gonna be a good one, looks alot like Jordan

he ran the 2 minute offense well earlier this year

This..
Over the years, I have heard about saban being so much better than Miles. Miles and Co. made a lot of adjustments against Auburn to win most decisively. (I know, negatigeres , it was Auburn).
Saban on the other hand, couldn't do much with a team that has had huge problems also. On Saturday, Miles looked like the better coach. Of course, in two weeks we'll see. I just think our guys can do it.

Like when he took out Marcus Randle after the first drive against Auburn after Randle led us to a touchdown.

Say what want, if Miles and saban flip flop jobs at lsu. Year 2000-2005 we would still suck.

Lots of assumptions in that statement. Recruiting, probably about the same. Miles has had good coordinators. We wouldn't have gotten Mauck as QB because that was dependent on Saban's preexisting relationship with him, but otherwise, not likely to have been significantly different in recruiting results. Miles record at OSU compare very favorably to Saban's at MSU. The facilities improvements were as much the result of Emmert's support as anything Saban did. Presumably Miles would have had the same support at Saban in that department. So I really don't see that it is so obvious that Miles could not have been very successful following DiNardo. After all, he was the most successful coach at OSU in over 30 years.
