Numbness in Hands After a Flu Shot

Has anyone else had this before? I got a flu shot about an hour ago and my hand is getting pretty numb. I've been getting flu shots for about 7 or 8 years now, and this is the first time.

I knew that was going to be on the first page, but as the first response, I'm impressed.

No but now that you have gotten your flu shot you will definitely get sick along with your numbness issues. Hope it's not permanent. You never know what they put in that shite.

I do my best.
But really, I've never heard of this happening to anyone. It's never happened to me, so I don't know. Sure it wasn't just a regular falling asleep circulation thing?

Is that Rick Ruben or Santa Clause in your avatar?

Nah, I got my flu shot around 8:00 at night, so it's only been about 90 minutes or so. I'm sure it's not a big deal at all, but I was hoping one of the nurses was around

Good call. It's Rick Rubin, but I am not sure if he is dressed as Santa or not. Somehow I doubt it because he isn't Christian, but maybe he is just trying to humor Pusha T and Malice.

ETA: My flu shot experiences have been fine so far. I've only been really sick twice in the past 7 years.

My arm is usually sore after a flu shot, but I've never had numbness. Any other weird symptoms--redness around the injection site or anything?

No, there is no redness or even a drop of blood on the band aid. The arm itself isn't really sore either.

Ezride, they are probably better known by their name as a duo, Clipse.

I went with a full on signature and avatar switch last week. No more Nigerian entertainers with hyenas or Nathaniel dancing on TV.

Apparently I am supposed to go the ER because of numbness, but it really doesn't seem that serious.

Why would anyone take a flu shot? It makes no sense to me. PSST......the gov't has a new shot for you. It will be available next week at your local Walnuts. Not only will your hand be numb but your ankles, neck and testicles will be too.

Do you think that the gov't is injecting us with syphilis and testing the long-term side effects?

Unless you are the descendant of a Tuskegee victim, you are being more than a little paranoid.

Yes, everyone that gets a flu ends up sick.

They tend to put random stuff in each shot.

To the OP, the nurse may have irritated a nerve when giving the injection. I wouldn't worry unless it gets worse or lasts for several days.

re: Numbness in Hands After a Flu Shot

It really isn't that irritating, but it's noticeable. I didn't really feel any pain after shot, but after about 20 minutes, my left hand got fairly numb and has stayed the same for about an hour.

I figured that if one of my nerves was hurt, it might impact by fingers.

Since I don't feel any other discomfort, I'm not going to panic and go to the ER like the little brochure says, but I wonder if I should get a flu shot in the future.
