Petro club/thread.

Oh yea and sonic. My family's from there so I can make fun.
That's all they have besides Tampico's(mexican restaurant). The exxon station next to the teche hospital also makes a meannnn po-boy. I'm serious.

Seriously the petroleum club is awesome. New Orleans esque kind of food. Expensive, though.

nvm, just remembered it's a private club. So it looks like sonic for you.

Cafe JoJo's on Front street is about as close to formal dining as you're going to get and you have to be a member or guest of a member at the Petroleum Club so that's out.

ETA: or drive 30 minutes to Baldwin and eat at Mr. Lester's in the casino

EATA: try the oyster spaghetti

False. Morgan City's Petroleum Club is one of the worst I've been to, and the food is pretty bad, just like the rest of the Petro Clubs in the country.

damn this thread makes me sad.

No good seafood in Morgan City ?
Please say it ain't so.

One of the best Gumbo's in the world was at a little red checker table cloth place on Front Street maybe 20-30... well lets just say a damn long time ago.

As a kid I used to ride with my Dad to Morgan City once a week during the summer just to eat this Gumbo. Dad went for work, I went for the Gumbo..

Great Memories.

I haven't been to Morgan City in 25 years I guess. Doubt I missed very much. But I will always envision that little place near the water just like the last time I ate there,,, With great Gumbo !

Anyone old-timers maybe know the name of that place ?

Morgan City actually died with the oilfield crash in the mid 80's, it hasn't been the same since.

If you are still here today for lunch. The Atchafalaya Cafe just opened a few months ago. The lunch there is pretty solid. It's downtown, right off front st.

Is the old Dixie Grill still around? ISTR nothing great about the food (clue: "Grill"), but when I would find myself in MC I would sit at the counter, grab a cup of coffee & piece of pie, and enjoy listening to the old folks BS each other.

if looking for a great steak, Mr Lester's is awesome. Best Prime Rib I have ever eaten. Steaks are delicious and huge, about the $$$ as Ruth's Chris.

if you want to drive 30 minutes the other direction, Bubbas II in Thibodaux is really good fried seafood. Also, Bayou Delight in Bayou Black is awesome too. homecooked seafood and lights out fried chicken. Follow exit to Bayou Black. On left on bayou almost to Houma.
