I thought we'd be at least in the top 10.

Alabama, 5?

They win 7 this year, max.

we will after week 1.

alabama/v.t. loser will drop out. (unless o.t. game)

georgia needs to beat osu.

we will be no less than 9 after week 1. just hang tight.

I'm glad we missed the top 10. We went 8-5 last year and didn't finish in the top 25. I know we should be much imporved, but we don't deserve all the acolades that we have gotten this year.

It speaks volume as to where this program is that, after an 8-5 season, we get ranked #11 in the AP poll and people think of that as being the underdog or ranked too low. This is not a flame, just an observation.

Here's to keeping the program at the elite level!

What does it matter where LSU is ranked? It is where you are ranked at the end of the season that counts the most. It is the Coaches responsibilty to make sure that the team takes it one game at a time and not pick and chose which game is more important than another. They are all important to this team that is trying to regain the respect of each team that it has to play. I believe when all is said and done we will be the better for it. Remember we are LSU winner of two of the last six NC's. This team has to develope into a national contender but first we have to win the West and then look to Atlanta before there is any chance of us winning another NC. Memories of an 8-5 record is still fresh on our minds, let's hope we can put those memories to rest and make some better memories that we can cheerish and that will last a life time like those two teams of 2003 and 2007.

our rankings this preseason are great! 9 in coaches and 11 in AP ia are respectful rankings to LSU and if we happen to be in the BCS conversation, then our preseason rankings are plenty high enough to keep us in the race, if we can make it there....

We play 3 of the current top 1O teams, so at #11, if LSU plays it's best, it will have a chance to finish as high as possible with possibly the toughest schedule in the SEC.

Couldn't ask for anything more.

Oh, God, Lou Holtz is on ESPN saying Notre Dame has a better chance than anyone else other than Florida to play for the BCSNC with USC being only tough game...didn't he predict 11-12 wins for them last year?
