Check out this article slamming LSU and Memphis for having live tigers as mascots.

LSU is having serious problems with Mike VI and this should have been yet more ample evidence to the University of Memphis that humanity and American culture has evolved past the point of using live tiger mascots.

What are these serious problems? I went and saw Mike 2 weeks ago, and he looked happy as ever.

On various internet message boards, in their customary barely literate verbiage, LSU fans retaliated with hatred, vitriol and death threats toward members of PETA. This is no surprise. It is similarly no surprise that LSU’s tiger is agitated and refusing to attend games. LSU is having serious problems with Mike VI and this should have been yet more ample evidence to the University of Memphis that humanity and American culture has evolved past the point of using live tiger mascots.

I just had to comment...it is awaiting "moderation" what ever that means...

Here is what I posted to them...

First I want to state that I am a Huge amimal lover and I don’t like PETA because of thier publisity interestes. Like a faded actress who is longinig for the limelight again…
Now I don’t know about Memphis but…
The recent Cats at LSU are some of the longest living captive Big cats ever…outliving many in zoos. Also these Cats are “rescued” from cage “sanctuaries” right in the US. Don’t act like they are going out in the wild to capture wild Cats. Why doesn’t PETA go after the Raodside attractions that are horrible places for Big Cats to live instead of Cats that live in large habitats and have the best medical treatment…Never mind..I’ll answer that…Because there is no Pup in that…

These people will make up anything to push their agenda.

Mike V lived 5 years longer than the life expectancy in the wild.

Auburn, Clemson, and the University of Missouri have pledged to never use live tiger mascots and they are having a bit of rivalry fun by competing in a challenge to raise more money than the other two schools. If you have time, read about the Tigers for Tigers pledge challenge here. In stark contrast to the outdated and closed minded approach of both the University of Memphis and LSU, consider the statements from each of the three schools regarding the importance of tigers and why they do not support having live tiger mascots in cages during games.

Just another reason why LSU is better than the rest

First thing that caught my eye was the little graffiti artist defacing public property.

Well I think last year they had problems with him last year at games, either it was too hot for him or they said he was too young, but that just shows that we are looking out for him, and not just the tradition of having him at the game

I agree, but if you're going to comment on something like this, please use spellcheck. It'll give us a little more credibility and maybe help people stop thinking of our fanbase as retarded.
