Quote from Dennis Dodd (March 9th)...

"A best guess is that Bryce has narrowed his choices to Oregon and Tennessee. Based on conversations I've had, the kid is very interested in how he will be promoted. Oregon has at its disposal the Nike marketing machine. That's not to say the kid would be hidden playing in the SEC at Tennessee (on CBS).

Oregon can further sell the nation's No. 2 rushing offense and a somewhat stable quarterback situation. Tennessee can sell the charismatic Lane Kiffin, his superstar staff and a program about to take off."

If being promoted is his primary concern then he should have went to USC.
JD Booty being metioned for the heisman or Joe McKnight being touted the next Reggie Bush immediately come to mind. You don't even have to do be that good to receive the hype.
And besides Dixon who the hell at Oregon has ever gotten a bunch of publicity? I realize they have had good players but they pretty much fly under the radar.

WOWWWW. If this is true, what a waste of an incredible talent. Looks to be searching for publicity, dough, and some dope nike gear, got to hope he's better than that.

if thats his criteria then wow

oregon would get him some pub but nobody cares about the pac 10, any rb worth his weight could run wild through those defenses

tenn would get him nothing, they got no o-line, no qb nor future qb, a unproven scrub in kiffen

seriously, if thats his deciding factor then see ya bryce

Dodd actually cut the full quote short. The full version is:

quote:

Oregon can further sell the nation's No. 2 rushing offense and a somewhat stable quarterback situation. Tennessee can sell the charismatic Lane Kiffin, his superstar staff and a program about to take off their shirts."

Back when Harrington was QB at Oregon they did a huge promotional campaign for the Heisman.

FWIW, Dennis Dodd is an absolute fecking MORON.

I mean BAADDDDD.

Dude is EASILY the worst sportswriter in the entire business. He lives to wrile his readers up.

Not saying this story is BS, but I've come to not believe a word this toolbag says.

The only thing the "charismatic Lane Kiffen" is going to do is lead TN into probation. His douchebaggery has already P-Oed the SEC coaching ranks and so he and his program have a big target on their back.

Dodd is Finebaum with a broader reach. They even look similar.
