I would highly recommend LOST. My wife really likes United States of Tara, It's fairly good Toni Collette is a really good actess.

It all depends on how much catching up you want to do, but Friday Night Lights is a great show. I think it is the best drama on network TV, especially the first season and the first eight episodes of this season.
