Why does the NCAA not charge LSU with 2 time outs to wear white at home?

it isn't the color of jersey, it is the fact that both teams are wearing their dark jerseys. it would be different if USC requested that UCLA wear white. But, they both want to wear dark. UCLA has the right, so USC just does it and loses two timeouts.

No. We are entitled to wear white at home for SEC games, per SEC rule. OOC games, the visitor gets to choose. Usually they choose their color, but if they choose white then we must go to color.

The trojans are playing the Bruins at the Rose Bowl, the home stadium for UCLA, this weekend. The Bruins will be in their blue and as the home team, they get to choose to wear the color they want. $C, the VISITING team, is going to wear their red jerseys (a throwback to when both school wore their colors) as opposed to the white jerseys.

pretty sure we wore white for ooc games under dinardo. saban changed it b/c he said some recruits told him they liked to wear different colors, not just white all the time.

Two different issues.

Those OOC teams must give us permission to wear white at home. Most do, but some like Oregon State in '04 turn us down.

When DiNardo got the NCAA rule changed, he wanted to wear white for every home game. As you stated, Saban wanted to mix it up by wearing purple for some OOC games.

"I just thought it was a really cool tradition," Carroll said.

As for losing timeouts? "I don't care about it right now," Carroll said. "I think it's the fun thing to do, and I think the fans will appreciate it over time."

This is what pisses me off to no end. If Miles did something like this the media would crucify him and call him an idiot, blah blah blah.

But Carroll does it and its great and fun and how great would it be to play for this guy, blah blah blah.

What a fricking joke.

The same will happen to Pete should USC acually need those time outs to win the game. Before the game naturally USC fans think they'll win by a couple hundred points.

I think it would be absolutely hysterical if this is a close loss for USC that hinges on their inability to stop the clock late in the game.

It would be great. The Bruins have played the evil empire very closely at the Rose Bowl and they beat them in 2006. Nothing ever surprises me in that rivalry.

As do I.

I guarantee Carol wouldn't be giving up timeouts if it were Florida or Oklahoma. He's doing it b/c he thinks the game is in the bag. He should know better by now. A little disrespectful towards UCLA if you ask me.

Dude, it's an old tradition that went away for a while and now BOTH SCHOOLS are trying to get it started again. This is between SC and ucla, end of story.

Read the article, ucla is fine with it. I guarantee you that either A) USC will not be penalized OR B)Next year UCLA will give up time outs so they can wear their baby blues in the Coliseum.

I'm not knocking the tradition at all. I think its actually gonna look really cool. I don't think USC should even have to give up the timeouts if both teams agree.

But are you denying that if Miles did this the USC boards and national media wouldn't be buzzing with the clown and idiot comments about him?
