Ole Miss is said to rather play in Chick Fil A bowl, because they recruit more in the Atlanta area. I'm sure this is Germans but it was reported on the Buddy songy show earlier.

...thus it's true.

I'm kiddin' with ya, dude, but seriously, Ole Miss doesn't get to pick which bowl it goes to -- perhaps they can make arrangements with the bowls based on recruiting, but I don't think that will sway them. Their decision will be based on fans traveling, and perhaps which matchup will be the most competitive -- but mainly ticket sales, which means LSU may still go to the Cotton Bowl.

I think that the Ole Miss crowd will travel well, though, and I bet LSU gets the Peach Bowl. (Aside: I might be biased based on the fact that I would MUCH prefer the Peach Bowl, but eh.)

BT you don't care where we play. You said in another thread that this season is over. So go your arse away until next season after a championship. when you come back and say that you knew LSU was this good all along and that you supported them through thick and then.

Ole Miss has no say. LSU lobbied for the Cotton Bowl in 2005 but still got sent to the Peach. I doubt that the CB wants LSU after the way they've played of late. A team on a losing skid with a fanbase that's apathetic about travelling to watch them is not a recipe for money making.

If that really happens LSU should turn down a Cotton Bowl bid. LSU is doing a lot of recruiting in Texas, and it would really hurt for those potential recruits to see LSU get smashed by Texas Tech. The Peach Bowl would be the best option to play a weak ACC team. However, if it comes down to Cotton or Independance Bowl, take the Indy Bowl.

They have a say. If Chick fil a sends them an invite then they can accept it.

Highly unlikely, but, let's say we do go. Wouldn't it be great if we went in there and completely annihilate whoever we play! But, like I said, highly unlikely

The Cotton will invite first, though...and while Ole Miss apparently recruits the Atlanta area, the Cotton Bowl has a much better payout IIRC.

I know....but the Chik-Fil-A Bowl can't invite anyone until after the Cotton Bowl makes its choice. If the CB passes on OM, then we can go to Dallas, but if the CB invites them, then they go.

Oh Lord.

How many points will TT hang on our defense?

But I say no way the Cotton wants LSU vs. TT the way we've played lately; even if (big if) we beat Arkansas handily.

Ole Miss having beaten Florida would be a much more attractive matchup and the Cotton payout is bigger.

The Rebs are going to Dallas.

yeah, cotton gets first choice. SEC contract and last i checked, Ole Miss is in the SEC.

Cotton pays out about 2-3 million more than the peach I believe...

If OU's shitty defense can stop TX Tech, then so can OM's.

I'm jus sayin'....
