As an LSU fan, I am rooting for Texas Tech to win the National Championship. I think this is the best possible scenario for LSU. I don't think that Texas Tech will recruit against us on a national level and we don't 'really' recruit against Tech in any of our normal regions. I know that some of you will say that we recruit a lot of Texas players, but most of our Texas recruiting is done in east Texas. Texas Tech mainly recruits players out of west Texas. I think that if Texas Tech were to win the National Championship, we won't see much competition from them in the talent pools we normally recruit from. If Florida, Bama, Oklahoma, or Texas were to win the National Championship we would see increased competition in our recruiting pools from any of these teams. I just wanted to hear some other opinions on my theory. Happy Veteran's Day and thank you for your service to all Veterans.

I see your point, but since it's out of our hands at LSU, I'll pull for either Alabama or Florida, and keep the SEC domination rolling along...

Makes sense to me, and I really think they are the best team also. Odd thing is, they kinda said no to a game against us at the begginning of this year, and I am here to tell you, they would have destroyed us, especially earler in the year. But they would kill us now too, honestly. We would never be able to keep up with them on the scoreboard, and there defense is pretty good also.

Then we'll have to deal with him.

At least not every year though.

I would root for the SEC team that's in it because if they win, we get money. If Tech wins, we get squat except a good story

Eh. LSU needs to handle it's own business. I prefer the SEC to win the BCSCG because the more often it happens, the more the pollsters will write in the SEC #1 into the game, which is good for LSU in the future.

It's hard being in Bama these days. I can't even get through the supermarket without getting a "raaaaall tyhd".

I decided tonight that I'm going to have to lower myself to the response:

(choke and gag) "Go Gators!" ( and puke )

I agree

For the most part we don't compete with Texas Tech... certainly not in the same way we compete with Florida, Alabama, and perhaps not even OU and Texas

I definitely agree, but I'm just speaking outside of what we do. Our team needs to perform for the rest of the season.

I agree with you for the most part but TT does try to recruit LA and east Texas. A NC would only help. Although I don't see TT being much of a threat in LA they do have one commit from Barbe in Lake Charles who is pretty impressive. LSU never offered but the kid has potential. I think LSU and Texas have the upper hand by far in east Texas. Central Texas will be tougher for LSU regardless.

I am pulling for TT all the way! I really like to watch them play. I am a big fan of Mike Leach. That guy is a very unique person and a offensive genius.
Bama is gonna get a mud hole stomped in them by UF.

Mike Leach is his own person. He is pretty different from your normal NCAA coach. I dont think he is driven by the same value system as these other guys. Thus I doubt he will leave TT. To him money is cool but it isnt the end. He loves being in Lubbock.

Yep, either there or Aubbie. I hope he takes Tennessee. I don't want to play him every year.

On one hand, I don't want anyone but the SEC to the BCSCG, on the other hand, I want us with only two crystal Ball.

However, I find it hard to root for alabama. I really do. However, they are the lesser of the evil.

However, if every SEC teams wins their respective bowl game, I can deal with an ALA lost definitely a gator lost.

I'll pull for TT if they are playing against BAMA. Otherwise I want UF to win.

Fla, Tex, and Okla get what they already get and from where they always get, and outside of the recent LSU BCS title helping get LSU in on more kids that the aforementioned already normally land..lil' changes.

Texas Tech winning hardware would only help them reach further into East Texas than they ever have been able to successfully, as despite being in the badlands of West Texas, they have an attractive system for skill players.

Bama and Saban are the ones to pull against, as they beating UF in Atlanta, could drastically change the recruiting landscape, as I think should they win that SECCG, they would instantly rival or exceed UGA and LSU, right behind Fla's cherrypicking for Florida kids wanting to play in the SEC, of those that are nixing Miami, FSU, and/or the ACC.

Maybe if TT upsets OU in Norman, I could feel I must root for Cinderella, but otherwise they are gadget flag-football like most of the Big-12, and they sorta insult my old-school inner defensive-minded sensibilities.

Besides..SEC! SEC! SEC!
