$4200. Didnt quite want to spend 5-6, but better than the 3k on the basic.

No I wanted a 50-54, but figured I could be better quality for the same money if I got a 48. Turns out I got good quality and 52.

Yes, and it's not quite as good as the separate wheel motor/pump arrangement but the ZT3400 hydrostatic transmissions in your mower are definitely a step up from the residential ZT2400 transmissions found in most other residential models.
10 mph forward cutting speed is impressive for those type transmissions.
