If you win powerball, you can afford to get it fixed at Coy's.

I'm gonna burn that SOB down with a stack of hundys

Got the quote from TNT. After they tore apart the motor, they came back with similar results. Everything was pretty good, with the exception of the blown head gaskets and cross-hatching in cylinders.

Turbos...good
Bottom end parts...good

Really only needed cylinders redone and gaskets/studs. My cost over there was $9000 including labor. $4400 cheaper than Coy. They told me that it would probably be better in the long run to just get a new motor now instead of rebuilding a $5700 short block. My motor has 150k on all of the parts, so I think it is a better idea.

Gonna buy a complete, running motor with either 10 or 36k miles for $6500 tomorrow. It is gonna end up costing about the same as them rebuilding the short block. Definitely will have ARP studs in there this time.

It pains me to think that ~$1000 in parts could've saved all of this trouble

1. About 3000 acres of river hunting land.
2. About 3000 acres of river or creek farm land.
3. Support equipment for both operations

A man after my own heart.

I'd start with the boat though. Then sail it around the world while I figure out what I want to buy with the rest of it.

Hope you saw it....not taking any chances.

Also, I will be doing a circumnavigation in about 5 years if I can get the stars to align correctly.

That thing is gorgeous.

Hat's off to you sir if you can pull it off.

I'll still be trailer sailing every now and then and parked in the lake the rest of the time more than likely.

I need to sell the current Catalina 25, but I think they will take it on a trade since we bought it there. You are welcome to come sail on it anytime.

The 42 will be in the Gulf like a boss....

Edit: Sounds fine to me. I can't really accommodate a large group. But a 2-3 people wanting to hang out and sail is possible this spring. The boat is at the Kemah Boardwalk, so it is a good time night and day.

I've got a few that I've been sailing with weekly, forever. It's our own little club. And they can sail anything. Between us, we've got about 10 boats or so and a retarded amount of miles sailed.

Right seamen these. And we're always up for sailing cool new boats. So generally somebody buys one and we sail crap out of it every week for a few years.

Right now, I've got a Catalina 22 that I've been everywhere in, but the boat I'm having the most fun sailing is a Chrysler 22. Herrshoff design. That boat is overbuilt, as they were back then, and overrigged because they used the same rigging for larger boats. Spars as well. It's a brick shithouse but man... that boat can go. Really fun boat to sail. No angle of heel stops the boat completely till you're just over. Do that in my wing keel Cat22 and it will stall and suddenly you are in risk of a lot of violence. But the chrysler... just keeps on going. Hauling arse. And it's a pretty comfortable boat.

Working on a Spirit 22 right now we'll be splashing in the spring. It's looking like a fun little boat. Biggest we've got at the dock is my buddies 27 but we rarely sail it. It's more like a winnebago we park and raft up to. Full kitchen and bunks and stuff. And headroom.

But we own our little lake. We have sailed it to pieces. We need better sailing destinations.

We've got a pearson 27 that would be more than suffient for most of our coastal shite. But we've already done most of that in a Catalina 22.

Time to step out.
