You get what you pay for when it comes to tools.

Had to replace the priming bulb on my Stihl pruning/pole saw after owning it for 10+ years. It took about 5 mins to replace due to a cowling in the way of 2 of the screws. Long story short after priming it up, with year old gas, having not been ran in almost a year it cranked on the first pull.
Gotta love a quality made tool.

I have a shindaiwa t-27 weedeater from 1992. Rebuilt the carb this year and the thing runs like a top. I'll be sad when I have to replace it.

I heard a quote once about this. "The tool you need but don't buy is the tool you will pay for but don't own." Although the qoute isn't a direct reference to tool quality, I think it fits. A more expensive, quality tool that lasts will many times cost less in the end than the cheaper tools that keep having to be replaced.
I have a 10-year-old echo trimmer that I have replaced the bulb, spark plug and fuel filter on and which still runs like a champ. My dad has a half dozen Weedeaters bought during the same period out of which he can get maybe one to run at any given time.

When it comes to gas powered tools you definitely get what you pay for. Totally agree that you buy the right one once, keep up regular maintenance, and it will last you tons longer than the cheap junk.
Honda has learned that supplying engines to companies that are making a cheaper products that charge premium prices because of their name is hurting them.
