If you were in Nepal scaling Mt. Everest a Yeti Cooler is one thing that you wouldn't need.

Yeti 65. Best size for 1 person to handle. Durable enough that I shouldn't have to buy another unless it gets stolen

Agree with this. I bought my 65 on Amazon Prime - free shipping and no sales tax and it was about $25 off the retail. Best deal I could find. I do a lot of 3 day camping trips and I love it for that. Plenty of ice at the end of the trip. Lots of state parks don't have ice machines and it is one less trip to make. Yes its heavy loaded - equivalent of lifting a loaded 100 qt Igloo in the back of your truck. Always put it in your truck and then load it. Its worth it to me but I understand why some say it isn't.

I like the latches and handles on the Pelican more than the Yeti

That or Crossfit.

At parties, we dump it off on the deck, fill, it with ice, and the party pretty much revolves around the Yeti.

I'd buy it.

I think there's still ice in mine from last weekend.

Last ice chest you'll ever buy if it doesn't get jacked.

if you are in an area where ice is limited.... there is a difference between the super coolers and regular.

love these comments... a damn coleman or whatever can last 20 years for an eight of the price.

Leave a Coleman in the back of your truck or boat in the sun and weather and see how long it lasts. Hell I just threw out a Coleman that was in my store room because it dry rotted.

I never leave ice chest, or much of anything, in the bed of my truck to make sure nothing is stolen. Yetis/K2/etc etc are great for people who really, truely do need them and intend to use them for their true purpose. With that said I think probably 80% of these ice chest owners have them as a sort of status symbol.

Just like this pic. We play cards on top of it, drink burrs sitting on it, might even do a jig on it pretending we are grizzly bears.

and... if you are gonna wrap it or put a logo on it....

Yeti wins hands down.. the plastic they use works best.. only one other is even close and it is an obscure brand...

and... I have tested the coleman, and igloo extremes against yetis.. for keeping ice...

yet wins... I'll do the test again and document....

and yeti beats the others too.. not by much but it does...

in fact.. I filled wicks yeti with ice yesterday am.. filled my igloo extreme at same time..

this moring a WHOLE LOT more water came out of igloo.. oh.. and it is small than yeti.

is yeti right for every use.. NO... but if you are going for 2-3 days and can't go get more ice... it wins....

are they worth the money

That's a subjective question. My max cools serve my needs and weigh the same loaded with ice as a yeti does empty. Do you have a walk in cooler to pre-chill them?
