Got one last year for a Father's Day gift but nobody likes to use it because the zipper rakes your arm when you reach into the cooler. You also can't see what you're grabbing. Before I get rid of it, has anyone come up with a reasonable work-around? It is perfect for the beach if I can find a "fix" for the zipper issue.

Not to be a dick, but are you seriously bitching about a zipper scratching your arm?

That's what I was thinking... I don't have that problem with mine. Maybe I just don't notice it

I don't have one so I can't say much. But I feel like you could overlook a ice chest zipper scratching you a little.

The scratchy zipper is to deter bears from reaching in and stealing your stuff. Excellent design by Yeti, quality product.

I'll send you my address so you can ship me that sorry POS ice chest. I'll dispose of it properly.

I think the same thing. Not to mention having to pull the hell out of the zipper to get it to close that last inch.

Love my hopper. It comes with lubricant to make the zipper easier to pull. Never been scratched by the zipper

I seriously hate putting stuff in mine. Especially ice. More ends up on the floor than in the damn bag.

Ain't that the truth. It is tough to get stuff in there but it tends to stay almost closed when your wife forgets to zip it back up... EVERY SINGLE TIME!

I thought it would be too, but its really not. I borrowed a buddies for the beach last week. It was terrible. It's a pain in the arse to carry from the condo down to the beach when its slap full of ice and drinks. And it doesn't hold ice for shite. That's the main reason I borrowed it, I was thinking I wouldn't have to buy/find ice everyday. The ice was melted everyday. I cant believe people pay $400 for these things.

What's easier to carry?

Mine does.

I still believe this despite how hard it is to put shite in it.

these bags are more about the portability, softness, doesn't scratch interior of vehicles, exterior doesn't sweat and they don't leak like a lot of cheap soft coolers. my rtic ice bag melted within 2 days when i filled it up and was mostly in my garage and house. Ice lasts a bit longer than other soft chests but these other benefits are the advantage.

Yeti recommends coating the zippers with vagasil prior to using

A ice chest with modified wheels or a normal ice chest in a buggy with the rest of your items.

Dude, its ok to admit your dear yeti doesn't hold ice well, especially on a place like the beach. shite is overrated.

how much have you used it? it "breaks in" and gets a little less stiff.
