Yeah ok, they don't bite, they sting. You know what I meant. Lol. The foaming crap didn't work. Just went through 2 cans of spray and 1 can of the foaming shite and now I've just got hundreds of pissed off yellow jackets on my front porch. I didn't get bit though, so that's a plus! I'd rather 3 rattlesnakes and a bear be in my front yard than these things! I'm going to get about 6 more cans of wasp spray tomorrow and try again. If that don't work I'm going to have to call someone to come out Friday with a beekeeper suit or something to kill these frickers before they get to the kids or the dog. This sucks!

Found it... Delta Dust

quote:

I was completely out of ideas when I stumbled upon an article that mentioned delta dust, and I hesitantly ordered some. The dust is a fine powder that reminded me of baby powder, and stayed exactly where I put it. I used a mini duster to place the dust around the yellow jackets point of entry, and even sprayed some up into the hole itself. Upon seeing the powder the yellow jackets were hesitant to enter, but eventually did anyway. Some also fell out of the hole covered in white powder and either wiggled around on the ground for a bit, or flew off slowly. By day 2 their traffic had slowed considerably, and I noticed some very large yellow jackets were exiting the hole in the same fashion as before, with some flying or crawling off, and some dying. I gave them a few more puffs of powder into their hole for good measure. By day 3 there was no longer any yellow jacket traffic. I blew a bit more of the powder into their hole just to be sure, and even beat on the wall where they were located in an attempt to aggravate them. No response. This stuff worked where everything else failed, and was money well spent.

I just spoke to a family member that had the same problem. They eventually got into their house. They called the local pest company and they had to come out and spray the hole for 2 days, but they got them. I'm just going to bite the bullet and call in the morning. It's in my 7 year old sons wall. I don't want to risk it, and I'm too much of a pussy to man up and try to sprinkle dust in a hole surrounded by yellow jackets. Lol.

Good plan. Man's got to know his limits.

Hey, at least I admit when I'm defeated.

His wall is vibrating right now. I think all I managed to do was piss them off.

Yeah, my dog found mine for mr. He'd stand at attn staring at the hole and snapping at them as they flew by. The ones that were in my house were dazed from the poison so I was able to vacuum them up as they crawled around.

Put on a rubber glove, pop a can of indoor fogger and hold it to the hole. I did this with wasps and bees outside of the house.

I'm not sure why but people saying they got bit by a stinging insect is about like somebody saying they caught a bunch of catfish on a troutline. It's really terrible. Good luck with the yellow jackets.

You need a fogging poison, because if the inside of your son's wall looks like this, then all the spray is doing is killing the first level of the nest.

I'm going to run into the Walmarks in about an hour and pick up some fogger and give that a shot before I head to work. It'll be my last resort before calling in the pros. Hopefully that'll get them. Thanks for all the advice and ridicule! Hope I don't get bit before work!

For those of you on the edge of your seat waiting for an update, I manned up and sprayed 4 cans of fogger into the hole. They were fired up this morning but now when I put my ear on the wall I can barely hear them trying to move around. I think the fogger did the trick.

What type of foam? I tried the foaming yellow jacket spray, but it didn't really foam up very well. Was more like regular wasp spray, but with an applicator straw.

Dang. The kind I used oozed up out of the hole like "Great Stuff"(See my avi). I cannot remember what brand I used.
