That is a really good deal with the extras but I prefer controlled feed rifles
Very nice though regardless

Any gun for $300 is a deal in today's world, IMO.
I would agree with this...

UPDATE:
bought gun on top for 340 then traded
it for gun on bottom.
top synthetic model 70 30-06 made mid to late 90s
bottom model 670 .243 made in 1969
traded even with my cousin. The .243 will be given to my ex gfs 13yr old this afternoon when he gets back from a birfday party.

I think im as stoked about giving it to him,as he'll be about getting it.
bought this a couple weeks ago to. Stole it for $200. Its an older one with the steel receiver cover, instead of plastic. I only wish it was the black one, since that was my first gun
EJW would be proud

Hey OG. Musta been a fast supper at the dilly today.
I love them.
Many, many good memories of mine as a kid revolved around a black and chrome nylon 66

didn't go to the dilly today, meeting RayVegas at hooters early for the "blue haird wing special".
my 66 was always so covered in mud, but, I think it was a brown one underneath too..

I just went and gave Brandon
the .243. He was grinnin ear
to ear and I probably was too.
Told him only stipulation was
that he never sell andgive it to one of his
kids or nephews when he gets older.
What sucks is he broke his leg
last sat. and has a cast up to
the waist. So no range time in
the near future.

GM,
Congrats on your "new" gun. I hope yours shoots well w/ the scope, but don't be surprised if it doesn't….Mine is one of the many that doesn't hold zero w/ a scope, but shoots pretty well (at least as good as my old eyes can shoot) w/ open sights. The barrel of the 66 is attached to the receiver which also made of Zytel instead of metal. Consequently, on many 66's, the barrel/receiver attachment is not very sturdy. One ends up w/ a scope attached to a metal covering over the receiver and a barrel that may be loosely attached to a plastic receiver. OTOH, they shoot fine w/ open sights since both the front and rear sights are on the barrel. I guess one could attach a scope mount to the barrel using the rear rear holes and mount a scope "scout" style, but I've never seen of such a mount…..
ETA: That a was extremely nice of you to give the boy a gun! You deserve a big "Atta boy!"
