Wild turkey in NOLA City Park?

My son brought his dog out to City Park for a run and he comes across a turkey just wandering around. Yeah, I'm sure it's not really wild, but it's on the loose.

Had to be dropped off by someone. Closest breeding population of turkeys is on the northshore.

I've seen wild roosters near those abandoned golf courses. I those they were dropped off by someone who got tired of the crowin.
