The Ol’ Beachcomber?
My uncle took him out to Lost Lake to film an episode once. They made him drink the beer that sponsored the show (Schlitz, maybe ?) and when taking a sip the label had to be prominently displayed. Being a diehard Budweiser man, he said it was awful. We had all gathered to watch and had a lot of fun teasing him about it.

I remember his outdoors column in the morning advocate when I was growing up. I always looked forward to seeing where the bream were biting.

There have been several threads here about the Ol' Beachcomber. I sure remember his columns and he also had a Friday night show on TV for a while. It was a short show, maybe 15-20 minutes coming on after the 10 PM news, iirc.
I miss Scearce and I also miss those great old B.R. sporting goods stores like Steinberg's and Fred Parnell's.

We never went to Steinbergs but I spent a lot of time dreaming in Fred Parnells . Up that staircase was where all the good stuff was . I miss when BR was such a good place to grow up.

My paw paw let me stay up late on Friday nights to watch with him. Also Johnny Carson's intro.

he used to live off of north blvd, a few doors down from where my dad grew up. when dad and his buddies needed beer they used to sneak over to bob’s house and swipe a 6 pack. dad said he had so much beer stashed in the garage that he wouldn’t miss a 6 pack.

Seems like he was always "Reporting from Camp Bayou Corne".
