Told someone yesterday the itch is bad enough that I'd shoot Blackjacks and be ecstatic.

I'm waiting to actually get some cold weather before November 7th. Not sure if that's going to happen or not based on the extended forecast.

I'm super excited for Nov. 7.

However for a coastal hunter the last week and a half has been disastrous. The tides have been above normal for the last 10 days and really nothing to make them fall. All the saltwater is likely going to kill all the grass in the marsh. There is no cold front in the 10 day forecast looks like about two weeks out on any cool weather. I'm getting pissed just thinking about it. Of course can't battle mother nature. Sure wish the season opened the 14th though!

I started getting the itch as soon as I was driving home on the last Sunday last January.

Can't wait.

I am in the same boat as you. I don't know if I will be able to even pull up in my blind with the water so high. All of this salt h2o is going to frick up our feed.

Been ready since teal season. Just bought some wood to finish up the blind this week. Hopefully will see some birds and really get me excited.

I guess a lot of you will be leaving the dogs at home for the opener. We'll be battling gators next weekend

we had to fight the gators pretty good during teal season. Hoping to get a nice cold front to calm them down

This. I can't believe we are going youth duck hunting in 3 days. Stupid for the season to be this early. Then on top of that we go to MS for a youth hunt every year at some friends place. We let the kids decide and they wanted to go deer hunting, so we are missing the duck opener in Venice.

Belive me I have been to every meeting I can go to and have e-mailed and voice called everyone I can talk with to complain about the youth season. It's a crime to make it on the same day as Halloween. I don't think my opinion matters to those who set the season however.

I hope yawl kill a few, the weather looks awful, still hoping to go to the camp Sunday and take the kids to look around hope the weather allows.

Ready to roll. Boat rewired & going to cut roseau cane on sunday. Coastal hunting is a pain in the arse, but rewarding as hell. G'luck guys.

We open Saturday in garwood, tx! I think the rain will be shorter lived than predicted, so I'm hoping it starts at about 10 am and is done by the time trick or treating starts
