quote:so you don't think that the evacuees cost the local entities anything when they came up to Central and North La?
North and Central La. reps did the same shite when it came to alot of the funding in South La. after Katrina and Rita. Alot of reps. held up funding for South La until they got some of those dollars up North. shite goes both ways.

And they can give the yankees another seat, as long as they don't take the one away from Ann

I sometimes hunt and fish in south - and I know there are others that come north for the same activities - We would be better served if we had the entire state making decisions not the Salt Life crowd

If my memory serves me correctly francis thompson, noble ellington, and i think joe mcpherson held up some funding so the could make a money grab for the rural development fund. It was something to that effect

For me it had more to do with the not wanting to set a guaranteed number from a region, I would not have supported a guarantee number for any region, including south La FWIW, but there was no option for that.
Follow me...
South Louisiana is guaranteed 3 of 7 seats. That's how it's been for years. The remaining 4 can come from other areas. Right now 6 of the 7 members are from South Louisiana.
This Amendment wanted to mandate that 2 of the 4 at large should be guaranteed to N. LA, leaving 2 at large spots and the original 3 from S. LA.
They wanted a guaranteed change in committee make up as you can see the deck is currently stacked with 6 of 7 coming from S. LA.

I think one seat is about right. How many people does it take to manage a bunch of fields?

I have followed it from the beginning and understand the way it is, as well as what was proposed. There is nothing in the current set up that restricts or precludes any North LA Representation for 4 of the 7 seats. I know what they wanted - I just voted no to it.

All the coonasses want to come to NLA and shoot everything that walks.
My south LA cousins joke about "if it's brown, it's down"
Just curious, are there antler restrictions based on the parish in LA?
I live in TX now, and it depends on which county you are in. Not sure if there's a local wildlife department in each county that determines the restrictions, or if the statewide one picks which counties have to abide by the restrictions.

right
just seems fair and obvious that if the south gets guaranteed spots, the north would
the amendment would have done nothing but allowed the state to have better representation throughout, which is a good thing

What do people living in homes on stilts know about managing deer populations?

I voted no, because I think Texas and Arkansas should be in charge up there.
SLa types thinks this is so funny and then they get the butt hurt if a NLA player decides to play out of state.
At least if we were Arkansas, Texas or Mississippi we wouldn't let Edwin Edwards in a runoff for Congress.

all we want to do is outlaw the use of sac a lait. Let us do that and you can have your spots back.......seems easy enough.

Fair would be 3 spots for the North and 1 at large as a "tie-breaker".
We just asked for 2 guaranteed seats since the current and recent distribution has been heavy S. LA under the current membership rules.

Admittedly, not much. Lucky for us, we can just head north and take some of yours.

What is the population breakdown, NLA vs SLA?

It's not 6/7th's S. LA, 1/7th N. LA as the current committee membership breakdown suggest.
