And how did you get it out?

Mine was between thumb and index finger.

I just simply pushed it through (small hook)

It didn't happen to me, but I've taken a fish hook out of someone's eye before.

I hooked myself behind the ear fishing off our pier in Bayou Pigeon when I was about 10. I couldn't feel it and didn't know where I was hung up so I kept pulling and pulling trying to pull it loose. My sister eventually saw the blood pouring down my neck and told me. I still didn't believe her and thought I had hooked my collar until I ran my hand back there and came back with a crimson hand. I never felt it.

Adam's apple. Big lake about 12 years ago. Dads boat wouldn't crank and I was leaving for Iraq in a week. Had a guide take us out of hackberry R&G. Dad set the hook on a red way to hard. Plug came flying out into my neck. I acted like it didn't hurt but after a second the guide and my father were like "don't move". Guide took out some pliers and got it out. I still give my dad shite about it today. He's such a great dad.

3 times unfortunately.

1st time was fly fishing at 11. I hooked myself in the shin so deep, I had to have it cut out.

2nd time was when I was deep sea fishing and one of the big hooks got yanked by another fisherman and it hooked me in the forearm. We had to cut the barb and just push it through. I still have the scars from the holes.

3rd time was another person trying to cast and got a treble hook stuck in my shoulder. Again, had to get it done at the hospital.

Did he lose function in the eye?

I've never been hooked before, but I imagine what it would be like everytime I go fishing, and usually picture it in the eye. Seems like it would be horrible and could rip apart the area punctured to get out, unless you can just push it through.

My best friends uncle got hooked in his eye and lost all function. Has a fake eye now. I couldn't imagine the pain.

Crank bait buried in the ear. Self inflicted. All three treble hooks. We were catching fish too so I wore it for a few hours like an earring. Hurt like a sumbitch.

Hooks? Has anyone else ever had a gaff stuck as deep as possible in their thigh by some dumbass guide that missed your fish on a deep sea fishing trip that then caused the trip to end so you could go to the hospital for the bleeding and also have to get a tetanus shot? Motherfrick!

He actually did pretty well. The hook went into the sclera (the white part of the eye) but didn't go in very deep. We were able to get the hook out fairly easily once we took him to the operating room. Luckily he didn't get a major infection.

I learned a long time ago how to remove a fish hook that was stuck in someone's skin using a piece of fishing line. I've removed probably a dozen over the years, and many times there was only one drop of blood after the removal. Quick and painless. I've saved a lot of folks an expensive trip to the ER.
One time the victim was me. Because I had hooked my finger tip I couldn't use the fishing line trick to get the fish hook out out by myself. I had to drive to a friends sporting goods store and instruct him on the hook removal technique.
That being said, if the hook is in or near the eye, or near a vein or artery or someplace that seems tricky like near soft tissue, I will NOT attempt it. Go to the hospital and pay $400 bucks to get it out. If the hook is rusty, you better go to the ER and get a tetanus shot too.

Forehead. I walked up behind a guy fishing and he got me.

Only time I've ever gone to a hospital.

Me, none. Boys, each had one good one. One in the hand, one in the back (friend got heeeem) and one in the thigh nice and deep (fish threw it right by the boat).
