I have a '01 17.5' with a 75 on it. You will want to upgrade the TM, mine was stock with a 50# and the wind would kick my arse. Great boat, had it since '06, have pulled grown men on knee boards with no problems. Mine runs 45 with a full load, hit 50 when I changed the setup but lost too much on the holeshot.
Talked to a buddy that has a welding shop and he mainly deals with boats, said G3 welded boats rarely make it in his shop, just build better he said.
I run mine hard, high winds, stumpy lakes, rocks, etc, never had to take it in for structural issues.

I wasn't aware that G3 ever made a riveted 1860.

It was the deck plates only, but it was failing quick before he sold it. Otherwise, it was Spartan, but nice.
