What's the catch with the Federal Duck Stamp?

I want to say I paid for it at Academy last year when getting my tags, but I had to wait for it to come in the mail and they tacked on a service fee.
Can't you get them at the post office right then and there, or am I thinking of 1993?

You can get the actual stamp in your hand at the post office.

My mother gets all of ours at the post office every year, it's just something she insists upon doing for some strange reason. Oh well, if it makes her happy and saves me 25 bucks I'm good with it.

I never got mine in the mail last year. I just kept the paper proof that I had paid for it with my license. Will be going to the PO this year.

I thought I read somewhere that the receipt showing you bought was NOT sufficient. The stamp itself has to be on your license.

Yeah every year I have to explain to my post office what a duck stamp is. They always ask what I'm gona Mail with a 25 dollar stamp hahah

I find the same thing...it is kind of like a comedy routine that I always have to go through to kick off the hunting seasons

Downtown Shreveport has plenty they said. Just picked mine up at lunch.
