Looking to purchase a pontoon boat. I've scoured the internet (searchtempest, bbrvs, and LASportsman). Am I missing anything?

Buying a used boat is really frustrating. You drive around any coastal town and there are hundreds of boats sitting that have been sitting for years.

You have to assume some of the owners would love to get rid of them for a deep discount because they are not being used at all.

Alas, they are not to be found.

Buy a new one and the first time you pull it to the lake look in your rearview mirror. You're now the owner of a used boat.

Everyone covered my go to sites Boattrader, Bassboatcentral, bbrv, craigslist from Houston to Mobile, and Louisianasportsman but you have to be patient to find the right one, I been looking for 3 years, not like it's a necessity I have three already.

Update

I found my boat by searching on facebook the manufacturer that I was looking for.

So if you're looking to buy a used boat, try searching it on facebook, and it might pop up on one of those for sale groups.

Just tried your method. Found my boat...in Pennsylvania. Also, when I try a search for an Express most results aren't boat related. Tips?

Maybe try searching "express boats"

I searched "veranda pontoon boat" and eventually found the one I purchased.

I bought and sold mine on LA sportsman, but I know that classified section was getting a bit messy. Haven't looked in years. Only problem with boat trader type sites is they are expensive. I'd bet a lot of boats aren't getting listed there. I want to say it was like 200 bucks for a few weeks to list my boat there. I wasn't in a rush to sell and ended up taking 3 months. Luckily I didn't attempt to pay that.

Yeah, they need to police it a little better. You'll have the same poster with 3 different ads:

2014 Polaris RZR XP, low miles, great shape. $2000

2014 Skeeter SX-240 bay boat with 250 Yamaha engine. $2000

2014 Ford F-150 Lariat 4x4, low miles. $2000

Seriously? What fricking moron would sell those for 2 grand, and what kind of moron would fall for it?

I want to shoot these people in the face.
