I had 2 boars hanging around but saw two small ones run across the road. Still had racing stripes so thei mama had to be close. Also had fresh rootings so I need to bait my trap and put a camera out

Handgun & shotgun = pretty much a tie.
I shoot a 2-3 cases through each in any given month.

Easily. That 7500 per year for handgun was a conservative number.

Handgun but I'm nowhere near the shooter some of you guys are. I usually burn through a couple of boxes of .45 every few weeks maybe a box of 9mm in between.
I put a box and a half of 30-06 down range last year and half a box of 7mag and maybe 5 boxes of 556. If it wasn't for the fact I had a KSG last year, I wouldn't have even shot an entire box of shotgun shells. i don't hunt birds or tree rats and I'm not about to embarrass myself trying to shoot skeet.

that is a damn expensive habit then.
with .45 or 10mm purchased super cheap at .25 cents a round that is still over 1800 a year in just pistol ammo.
But hey, you did shoot a non edible javalina and an edible doe with it.
Personally I shoot, shotgun the most by far. Between practice, dove, and duck season I probably shoot 500-600 shells.
I shoot pistol the second most with around 300 to 400 rounds a year.
and finally maybe 40 or so rifle rounds per year.

I dont always shoot the 10mm and 45. Sometimes it's 9mm, sometimes .380, 38 special, 357, or 44mag. Hell I even have a Ruger Mark III .22 pistol that puts the handgun number well over 10k. I didn't include that though.
