Or when the canal I'm running is 1.5 feet deep and someone decides to fish on the side of it and get mad when I blaze through to stay on plane and idling would make me hit bottom for 30 minutes?

That wouldn't be bad if you are not trying to hit the speed of light in said canal. Just fast enough to stay on plane is generally ok. Besides, if it is a narrow and heavily trafficked canal, that kind of goes with the territory. You know when a guy is just trying to show off or be a douche. Just stay classy.

These type of threads are always negative and depressing. I'm off work trying to get on some sprigs all weekend. Good vibes all day

WOW...
Lesson #1 - The faster your go in a boat the more lift it creates. The more lift you create the less amount of boat in the water to displace water. Which creates a smaller wake. I wish everyone would pass at 100MPH by me when I'm fishing, instead of 15MPH creating tugboat swells....... SMH

Next week we can teach boat launching ettiquite...

ETA- This is one of my pet peeves. Guy with a new boat, life jacket, and 10 backlashed new reels passing me by at a speed makes waves any wakeboarder would love only to think he's doing me a favor by slowing down. Either haul arse or idle, no where in between those 2 speeds is acceptable.

Well, there are many of them in the Southeast Texas marshes. More than I have seen in or heard about in years. Should be a great weekend for hunting there as well. Just an FYI

So someone's not supposed to tag out? What if they like the taste of deer? I see no problem with this as long as it's not bambi.

Majority that tag out and have the meat hunter mentality shoot hair.

Generally, if your boat is on plane, the bow is out of the water and you aren't pushing much wake to begin with. Unless you are in a huge heavy arse boat, then WTF are you doing running through 18" of water in the first place? I was more referring to the guy throwing a 30' rooster tail to look cool than the A to B guy. Besides that, traveling at a high rate of speed in a narrow cut is a good way to get dead and I don't want to see that or be involved in it.

I would say I can deal with most things. But, I get really pissed at people who don't understand the seriousness of the outdoors. Maybe I'm hard nosed and learned to do things a certian way, but for example I have a deer lease that I manage carefully and spend alot of time working on it. Then have friends that don't sight in there guns - followed by trying to shoot everythign and think they can shoot 500 yards. In fishing, it would have to be either wasting bait every cast or not understanding how tides work so they want to move every five mins during slack tide.

Had this happen to me this past Thanksgiving. Took my sisters husband hunt on my lease in Texas, dropped him of in my stand and waited at the camp. He shot 12 times!!! Over 1200 yards!!! I almost killed him!! He check his rifle when iI finshed chewing his A$$ for a few hours, @ 100yrds he was barely on paper. I haven't talked to that P.O.S. since....

I don't know what this means. Is this similar to a knee booter?

This needs a sticky, and please go post it at Crappie.com. If I do it one more time, they will ban me....again.

At Saline last year, I got confused regarding the channel going to the landing......powered down just enough and took a bad angle past a boat fishing out in the middle. I am pretty sure he wants me dead...if I didn't wash them up on shore.
