Very small crowd. Didn't even have to say excuse me. If you wanted an overpriced Glock, S&W, or AR15, well, they were all over the place. Seemed that's all anyone sold.

If you wanted a home defense shotgun, well they look at you like what are you talking about. Saw maybe half a dozen Mossbergs or Remingtons for home defense. There were probably enough AR15's to outfit a company. Seriously. Then there were all the cheap arse knives. In other words, that hour was a complete waste of time.

There is one in Tulsa, OK that is suppose to be huge and very good.

My FIL has gone the past few years. I forget how many acres he said it covers. In case you ever want to travel to a good show.

I have said for years that today’s gun shows are stupid.
I can go to a store and buy a new gun.

I liked gun shows when they were like classic car shows.
Let me see and buy stuff that’s not made anymore.

Went to the Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg a few weeks back, largest in the world and the day after a Trump rally.

It was a madhouse.

Lots of great vendor setups, shows and interactive booths. I really liked the hunting and fishing guides area, especially the big game contingent. It was pretty cool.

But, even with all of that, there are no real deals to be found. It's overpriced fair food, crowds, and paying to park and look around. Not really worth it in my opinion.

I didn't go anywhere near it on the day of the rally. But, there was plenty of residual chaos from the day before.

The venue is HUGE. 650k+ square feet and absolutely shoulder to shoulder the whole time. I could only imagine what it was like the day of the rally, no thanks.

The only deal I’ve ever gotten was (5) Colt AR-15 magazines for $18/mag. 30 rounders.

Last gun show I went to, in Pasadena TX, I bought one box of hollow point 10mm. Just no compelling deals and yes, any AR or plastic semi can be bought new from Academy for cheaper.

Went to one last year and found an original Colt Python that I thought was a good price.

Gun shows used to be fun until the early 90’s. You could load up on Confederate flags stickers (“you wear your X and I will wear mine”) and Paladin Press books that taught you how to make napalm, the best way to kill someone with an ice pick, and how to survive in the wilderness.

Mid to late 90's there were some great gun shows in Houston. The ones in the Astro Arena that would take all day to look through. Many guns, that you rarely saw, were all over the place. My dad and I got many a great deal back then. I have not been to one in years though. Ah the days of the $50 SKF.

I go to at least one show in Tulsa every year. My Dad still goes to both shows. They do one in April and one in November. 11 acres all inside. 4200 tables.
