Low, dirty water, but we found some fish. A buddy of mine got a new boat and we got to break it in, so that was cool too.

No pics but Saturday was all JV HS baseball. Sunday I prepped and painted the utility trailer rims and wheel wells, organized some of the garage, prepped 3 dirt bikes for the Spring, and hauled trash to the dump. Next weekend will be lots of fishing - I Swear! Possible pics if the haul is good.

This is the 1st rattle snake I've killed. It only had 8 rattles, so I don't know if was a young snake or what. He was right at 5 feet long.

If it was, I'd hate to run into an old snake.

Did this on Saturday. Loaded up on carbs. And then ran the Napa Valley Marathon on Sunday. Today I'm gonna do absolutely nothing except maybe take the dogs for a walk and then stand around my garden and second guess my handy work.

Miss the old wellheads in the middle of the lake. Went almost everyday in the summer whe in high school. Would mop up. One day we got our limit in 20mins and then caught and released easily 200 throughout the day. I had spray painted a dot on the more productive ones. These had oyster shells as a base.

Caught 20 white perch Sat PM and Sun AM on Caddo. All males except for two females Saturday right before dark. Water temp was 62 up to 70 in places Saturday afternoon. Last week it was 54 max. I think the next 2-3 weeks should be good once all the runoff stops from this massive rain forecasted.

Fished two tournaments on Bistineau. Weighed 13 and change in the BOSS and got a check. Weighed 9.70 in my club tournament the next day and got killed. Par for the course based on my prefishing trips over the last couple of weeks. I wish they would just blow a hole in the damn and turn that place into an ATV park.

They didn't fish the wellheads, just the backside of Gross Pointe. He's got a bass boat and is leary of rough water so he doesn't fish the wells often. I went with him one time and there were just some small rolling swells on a breezy day, he wanted to head back into the bayou......I'm glad he's cautious usually kids his age have no fear and take too many risks.

Yes, they're trying to keep it out of the launch area. The way they have it set up, makes it difficult getting your boat in and out of that pocket, but it may work keeping the launch open if they maintain it. This is the worst I've seen the salvaina on Bistineau at this time of year. In a couple of months it's going to be terrible, and potentially un-fishable. Word on the street is the state may start draining the lake in May this year because it's going to be so bad.

Should've clarified. New to him.

I'm not sure what model it is. I googled a bit and it looks similar to the Master Angler. It's 18' and a 2002 or 2003. No splash rails. It's a sweet boat. It doesn't get quite as skinny as their true poling skiffs, but it handles and fishes very well.

Watched all three baseball games per the usual, went and listened for some turkeys sunday morning. No luck. Caught one fish in my pond on Saturday.
