Well, the weekend wasn't exactly as planned. I did get the tarp on the boat shelter, washed the truck and boat, tilled up some dirt for the spring garden. Did hear 2 gobbling birds before church this morning. My boy is sick with a bad cold so we didn't get to fish today. I went to the pond across the road and caught 6 small bass. Not the catfish haul I was hoping for.

The great man who I went to the visitation and funeral for was married for a long time to as great of a woman. She passed away about 12 hours after his funeral. She couldn't bear life without him, I guess.

Picture of my biggest success for the weekend...

Fished the Rez. Did not know there was a 185 boat FLW tournament this weekend.

There was a boat in every hole I've ever fished.

Managed to get a few.

The ole wacky rig strikes again

I managed a decent one at Toledo, came home and caught a good one in my pond too. Also caught this pickerel in my pond...haven't seen one since I was a kid

Bayou Black Saturday afternoon. Been catching in Union Oil canals so I headed there. Before I could reach my spot I was being tailed by a work boat who said "if I didn't have permission to be back there I had to leave and "they" were writing tickets. After he took off, a guy in a shearwater (coming from oil company camp) pulled up to make sure I was leaving Managed a few else where but had more white cans than fish in the box. bullshite day

Had a bunch of extra plants that I grew from seed. They won't be going in the garden, but I felt like I couldn't let them go to waste. So I put them in five gallon buckets with a 50/50 mix of topsoil and potting mix.

Bad part of the weekend was my 2 year old son managed to get ate up by red bugs. Bad bad.

Fished Jeff Davis lake this weekend. Only caught a couple, biggest was maybe 2 pounds. It was the first time fishing there, and it was the weirdest bass fishing I've ever been apart off. First, before going I was told it was clear water. Well I wasn't prepared for how clear it was. 6 visibility easy and with the right sunlight and angle you'd see I swear 15foot. Saw plenty bass but tough as shite to catch.

Damnedest thing I've ever seen were people sight fishing from 3-6 ft decks they had on the front of their boats. More than one guy had the foot pedal for the trolling motor wired to the deck, and they just trolled around until they saw a bass..drop an anchor and start slinging.

Trying to throw soft plastics or anything into willow trees... Not fun. Kept switching to top water just to keep my sanity

Fun day Saturday with my Dad. Caught 10 of these on Saline Lake salvinia farm (Winn/Natchitoches Parish).

Church and baseball practice Sunday. I haven't heard anything from the turkeys yet but it's still early (from what the experts tell me).

Fished out of Jack Millers Landing with my nephew. Tried a few spots I had picked up a few bass before but no luck. Ran to some areas I hadn't been to before and was definitely not alone. Didn't see many people catching but a lot of people running. Still a great day to be outside and on the water.
