Got my first pig this weekend and the first pig ever taken off our lease in Copiah County, Mississippi.
Hunted saturday morning with a sligghhtttt headache from staying up till 2am shooting fireball and drinking beers. Saw a big coyote at 7:00 at 250yds. He turned and trotted all the way to the foodplot at 80yds. I was holding the crosshairs on his head the whole time but was hoping for a broadside shot (guy at the camp wanted a cape). Well as I was squeezing the trigger he suddenly smelled something and bounced into the woods. No dead coyote
Saturday afternoon I got to the stand at 2:35. I was hunting in a cutover and my dad was hunting another stand just 350yds away to my back-left. I got to my stand and climbed in, my dad waited till I was set before he started walking in case he was to jump something on the way. So I sit down, put on my binoculars, answer a text, look up and boom, there is a pig in the food plot 130yds away in front of me. I quickly grab my rifle, zoom in the scope and BOOOOOMMMMM! piggy drops! I was stoked, I've been hoping for a pig for years but no one on the lease has ever seen them while hunting, just on cameras (for 3 years). I hear my phone vibrating, it's Dad, I answer "Bacon down!!" He was just as excited. He hadn't even made it to his stand which was a 5 minute walk
Sorry, Mom

Deer hunting was poor. Duck was decent. Catfishin was on time.

HOLY BUCK
I'd have crossed that water in my undies in 33* weather to get to that buck
backstory?

3 man limit of scaup, ruddy ducks, spoonies and a canvasback in Port Lavaca, tx. Wasn't aware of the 3 scaup/person limit, but lucky the game warden let us off with just a verbal warning. Blasted a few coots too just because.

6 man limit on Saturday morning
Got the blind late on Sunday due to rain, ended up shooting 23 with 5 hunters. All in all it was a good weekend!

Hauled a horse from Texas to La. on Saturday. Whacked the greys and teal and spoonies on Sunday morning.

Sat, 5 guns 24 birds. Mostly Gads with a few Mallards. We did shoot a banded Drake Mallard. Yesterday, 6 guns 36 birds in the rain. Limited out on Mallards finished with Gads and a couple of woodies. First opening weekend ever that not one Spoonie was killed.

I made a terrible shot and hit him low. Another 1/2'' and I would of missed completely. We trailed him for 200yrds then lost blood. We made a guess on which way he went and found one more spot of blood, about 300yrds from where we lost it. Then went another couple hundred yards and jumped him up. That's when he swam across the bayou. After I crossed the bayou I jumped him twice. I could tell he was struggling so I decided to back off and go ask the neighbor who's property he ran onto if we could go look for hi. They turned out to be some of the nicest people I've met. We then lined up and went to where I last saw him. He was still alive and we had to shoot him again to finish him off. I hated to see him suffer but glad we were able to retrieve him and not loose an animal like that to coyotes. All in all it took 7hrs to find this deer. We will be telling this story around the campfire for years to come.

Sat on Deer stand that afternoon, saw 11 and let a small 8 live another day. I am not what you call a conservationist, so that was hard for me

by the size in comparison to your shoe and that doe looking like she ways 20# without her missing leg....im gonna say .270

Well since you only shoot 170 class bucks I'll let it pass that you are incorrect. I'll have you know a .243 made that hole. Its a mgmt deer...we'll call it that.
.270 made the pencil hole in exhibit A and a LCR .38 spl put the hole in the neck for last pic.
