Saturday: Hit Grand Bayou. Caught 20 or so, had a couple in the 5-6 lb. range. 1st time on the lake this year. It looked great. Lots of boats and lots of fish being caught.

Sunday: Had a club tournament on Black Bayou Hosston. Froze my tail off. Surprisingly, the cold front didn't mess the fish up too bad. Caught around 20. Managed to win with 19.3 lbs.

Drove down to Evangeline. Lakes were closed. Stopped at Indian Creek on the way home. Zero bites.

I did a kayak tournament in Cocodrie on Saturday. I've had a pretty crappy start to 2016 with 4 scratch trips so I was more excited than I should have been when this trout smashed my topwater Saturday morning. Picked up a 23.5" red a short time later then a rat red and that was all I had to show for the day. I'm pretty terrible at this so it felt good to atleast put a couple fish in the boat.

All this rain helped Grand Bayou immensely. It was so far down a few weeks ago hardly anyone was catching. We fish there pretty regularly

Fished Toledo Bend on Saturday. Caught 6. Windy as hell, cold front, and battling a thousand other boats for good spots made it a challenge. But at least we caught something.

Dang, sounds like a good day. I though this cold front would shut'em down.

Guess i need to get off my lazy arse.

Failed at turkey hunting Saturday with Jr. Blamed it on the wind.
Didn't go fishing because of the wind. Screw the wind. This coming weekend should be better.

Went turkey hunting with a friend and his son Saturday morning for the GA youth season. Had gobbling birds but they are henned up. Couldn't do anything with them and couldn't even cut at the hens enough to make them come, bringing the gobblers with them. Even tried fighting purrs. Cut grass and ran the weedeater. Caught 5 bass on top water that afternoon. Nothing but small ones, biggest was maybe 14 inches. Sneezed, coughed, and felt horrible due to pollen Sunday. Missed church due to snot.

Compounded, polished, and waxed the boat. Woody waxed the inside. Good weekend to not fish and get some work out the way.

Freeze them in water like fish. Best eaten fresh, though

No. Don't do this. Vacuum seal them dry.
