Went down to Cocodrie and caught 41 specks on Saturday. Was pretty shocked to do that well after waking up and it being as windy as it was.

Funny thing though, on the way down to my friends camp on Friday hit an alligator at about 1 in the morning on LA 56. It was like going over a giant speed bump, just glad I didn't lose control of my truck.

Cocodrie and caught close to 100. Unfortunately most of them we 11.5 inches. Ended up with 20 keepers and a mess of white trout. We stayed on the inside because of wind and incoming weather.

Also took my two nephews (7&5) and they each caught their first specks.

We caught a bunch of small ones, but did have a couple hogs around 3#. We started off inside caught a bunch, braved the chop and fished the back side of Last Island and did pretty well until we ran out of live bait. Seemed like we only could catch dink trout on artificial. We picked up, got back to the camp and it started storming within about 15 minutes of us getting in.

Mining/logging festival this weekend. Didn't fish, hopefully going out tomorrow if my fishing partner can get off work. He's from Alabama originally and freaks out when the depth finder goes deeper than 500' though.

Spent weekend in Dularge. Limited on reds Friday and Saturday. Weather turned to shite around noon Saturday.

How did you guys not get hammered on the island?

Go to grand isle Friday evening around 3, wind sucked caught 3 reds

Saturday woke up and it stormed until about noon, wind slacked off at 4 or so, was too drunk to take boat out so I caught a limit of reds in the kayak

Sunday caught about 40 trout but most were too small

This, we didn't even consider fishing the front side of the island with that southwest wind and assumed the water would have been chocolate soup.
