Water seeping into wader seams

Is this inevitable? I got a pair of the 400 g highly reviewed ones from academy and leaking a little bit after my first couple hunts.

Usually not that quick but with wear yes. This year we fixed some with the spray on plastic stuff they advertise on tv with replacing the boat bottom.
Sprayed outside seam and inside seam and it worked great.

Return them and get a new pair. They should not leak after just a couple of hunts.

goop works well, but just looks like shite....if you have only used them a time or two, they shouldn't be leaking unless they are too small for you...

my waders are more silicone caulk than neoprene now but they are old. usually after a few years of hard hunting and then sitting in a pile in the carport they'll start to leak. If yours are new bring them back to academy and they'll swap them out

I'm on yr 3 with the neo game winners and still high and dry. Don't toss them man there's to many easy and efficient ways to fix them. I bought a pair of game winner hip boots for $34 for this weekend. They've been kicking arse so far. I figure if I make 1-2 seasons it was well

I store mine in my house in the offseason. Not sure what difference this makes, but my last pair were 7 years old when they started to leak.

I store mine in the garage, hanging by the boot. My waders usually make it 5-7 years without major leaks.

Just get new ones. You'll fight it fire as long as you own them.

This. I did as someone else said. Used the spray on rubber. But I used the kind from Walmart. Not the one advertised on TV. I fixed 3 older pairs this year. Zero leaks in them any longer. That was way cheaper than buying new pairs for the kids and wife.

same here...mine last a pretty good while. I don't walk in much brush that would puncture them, though.

I usually get 2-3 years out of mine, I also keep mine inside during the offseason.

Are yall using Flex Seal? If so, any success spraying it on breathable waders?
One tip for finding potential leaks is to go in a dark room and pass a flashlight along all the seams from the inside while looking at the outside of the waders. Leaky seams will light right up.

Just get Simms waders and you will never have this problem again.

Filson would be a better choice

Wish I could, but don't have hundreds to spend on waders at the moment. :-/
